Summary
During quality checks, it was determined that the installed side stand spring does not meet our quality standards. For this reason, the side stand spring must be replaced on all affected motorcycles that are linked to this bulletin in Dealer.net. As part of the PDI, the routing of the engine breathing line should also be checked (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).

BASIC INFORMATION:
During quality checks, it was determined that the installed side stand spring does not meet our quality standards.
For this reason, the side stand spring must be replaced on all affected motorcycles that are linked to this bulletin
in Dealer.net.
As part of the PDI, the routing of the engine breathing line should also be checked (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).
PROCEDURE FOR REPAIR:
We shall not provide a description of general workshop methods. Likewise, safety rules that apply in a workshop
are not specified here. It is assumed that the repair work will be performed by a fully trained mechanic who has
completed training or has a corresponding qualification. In the event of uncertainty, the most recent repair
manual must be consulted.
In the interest of clarity, some components may be shown disassembled or may not be shown at all. It is not
always necessary to disassemble the component to perform the activity in question. Please follow the
instructions in the text.

Dealers must perform the side stand spring replacement and engine breathing line check on all affected
motorcycles in their inventory prior to any customer delivery. Please contact all of your customers who own
affected motorcycles to have the side stand spring replacement and engine breathing line check performed.

Check the routing of the engine breathing line (see Fig. 1, 2 and 3):

Make sure that the line is not kinked and/or pinched between the ground cable and the air filter box. Visual
inspection, correction if necessary. (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2) If a correction is necessary, a separate warranty
claim can be submitted.

Spring replacement on the forged side stand (see Fig. 4, 5 and 6):
1. Take off the side stand spring and spring holder.
Fit the new spring retaining bracket (A60103028200) with SK collar screw M8x14 – (J900000801402)
and tighten to the specified torque, see Table 1.
Attention: Note the installation position (see Fig. 4).
2. Attach the new side stand spring (A60103224000).
Attention: Note the installation position, long spring end direction upwards and open end direction to
the rear (see Fig. 5).
Note: The dismantled side stand spring must be disposed of.
Use Action code 03_2554486_00 when submitting the TI claim.
