ASA6 - Check Air-Spring Strut on the Front Axle and Rework if Necessary (Stop Delivery/Recall

Concerns:

Air-spring strut front axle

Cause:

There is a possibility that the circlip on the front left and right air-spring strut on the affected vehicles was
not manufactured according to specifications.
If this is the case, the circlip on the upper side of the respective spring strut can loosen and air can thus
escape from the air-spring. As a result, it may cause an impairment of the driving characteristics, which
increases the risk of an accident.

Action:

Check the air-spring strut on the left and right front axle and rework it depending on the test result.

Measure the internal dimension of the circlip on the right and left air-spring strut using a calliper gauge.
Proceed according to the default values specified below:
The internal dimension of the circlip on the right
and left side of the vehicle is
greater than or equal to 67.5 mm / 2.66 in:

End of action. Continue with Step 4.

Test result OK.
The distance between the ends of the circlips on
the right or left side of the vehicle is
smaller than 67.5 mm / 2.66 in:

Continue with Step 3.

Test result not OK.
