Safety Recall – Interim Notification
Interim bulletin chassis are now flagged in the PACCAR Registration and Warranty System. Refer to Bulletin 99048 for details.
Certain chassis may have rear suspension tracking rod interference with the left rear brake modulator when the
suspension moves through its full travel.
Interference with the left rear brake modulator could cause loss of service brake or ABS modulation for one rear
axle wheel end, which may increase the risk of a crash. The driver may see the ABS dash lamp before loss of
service brake supply to affected rear axle wheel end.
This bulletin will be updated once parts and procedures are available.

Dear Peterbilt Customer,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Peterbilt Motors Company has decided a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in Model Year 2024-2026 367, 548, 567, and
589 model vehicles manufactured from 06/19/2023 through 04/10/2025 with Hendrickson HMX suspensions. In certain chassis, the left-rear
brake could become damaged by contact with the suspension. This could lead to reduced braking or ABS modulation for one rear axle wheel
end, which may increase the risk of a crash. The ABS dash lamp may illuminate before brake performance is affected.
What is the problem?

Left-rear brake could become damaged by contact with the suspension.

What will your dealer do?

When parts and procedures are available, you will be notified and advised to arrange for your
Peterbilt dealer to inspect and repair your vehicle.

What should you do?

There is no action required on your part at this time.

Peterbilt has initiated this recall to remedy the issue at no charge to you. Currently, parts and procedures are unavailable to correct
this condition. However, Peterbilt is required to notify customers of the existence of the identified safety defect. You will be notified by
mail when the parts and procedures become available.
