Symptom/Vehicle Issue: Central ADAS Decision Module (CADM), Long Range
Camera Front (LRCF), Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). AEB ACC FCW
Message On Cluster.
Customer Complaint/Technician Observation: Owner complains of a cluster
message “ACC/FCW Unavailable Service Required”, ACC/FCW Limited Functionality”,
“Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) Limited Service Required”, “AEB Unavailable
Service Required”, along with the ADAS Features disabled. Technician finds diagnostic
trouble code (DTC): C008E-00 - ECU INTERNAL PERFORMANCE
Discussion:
Some customers may comment on ACC or AEB Limited Functionality. Technicians
may observe DTC C008E-00 - ECU Internal Performance in the “Active” or “Stored”
state. In addition, after taking a Vehicle Scan Report (VSR), technicians may observe
“EyeQ_Fatal_Error”,
“APP_FATAL_ERROR_APP_CONFIGURATION_ERROR_FAULT”, “Not Applicable”
stored as Internal DTC Decode Byte(s) 1,2 and 3 as shown in Figure 1 below.

Replacement of the CADM is not necessary for this condition.

Repair Procedure:
This issue is caused by a slight degree change in the roll angle of the
Long-Range Front Camera (LRCF).
1. Remove the Mirror Cover and Inspect the LRCF.
2. To aid Engineering in the investigation, take a picture of the LRCF mounted in the
windshield bracket as shown below and upload as a DID-I with the claim.
3. Verify LRCF is not damaged, obscured or out of alignment and is properly
mounted.
4. Remount the Camera and continue to step 5 below.

5. Take a Vehicle Scan Report (VSR) of C008E-00 - ECU Internal Performance and
check the Internal Decode Byte(s) 1,2 and 3 as shown in the example(s) above

APP_FATAL_ERROR_APP_CONFIGURATION_ERROR_FAULT:
6. Using the scan tool, perform the LRCF calibration. The routine is called the
“Forward Facing Camera Dynamic Service Alignment/Calibration”. (Refer to 08 Electrical/Programming and Calibration/Programming and Calibration) .
7. Once LRCF calibration routine is completed, the C008E-00 - ECU Internal
Performance will go to the “stored” state. Clear DTC(s) and road test the vehicle
to verify the issue does not return to complete the repair.
