SITUATION
The washer fluid reservoir (filler neck circled)
may be leaking, and drains out through the
wheel well liner. When the vehicle is parked, a
puddle of washer fluid may be present under
the right front corner.

CAUSE
The washer reservoir filler channel may not have been installed correctly at the factory.

CORRECTION
Before replacing the washer fluid reservoir, check for proper installation of the filler channel.

PROCEDURE
When a customer states the concern that is described in the Situation, proceed as follows:
1. Examine the filler channel and washer
reservoir connection point.

2. If one of the sealing O-ring’s are extruding,
replace the filler channel following repair
instruction 61 71 081 | REP-REP-P-6171081U11 - V.3

resource, start by entering the Chassis Number (last seven (7) characters of the VIN), and click on the

the applicable Model, or enter the full VIN (17 characters) instead to proceed. Click on the “Flat Rate Units”
button and enter a flat rate labor operation code number “without spaces” in the field to the right, click on the
“Search” icon to display the corresponding listing of “Flat rate unit group details” that are available and their
corresponding FRU allowances.
