INSTRUCTION TO SERVICE

PROCEDURE:
1. Ensure to apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “OFF” position.
3. Ensure to the wear proper PPE and gain access to the curb side rear double cantilever seat shown below. See
Figure 1.
4. Loosen the upper and lower crown nuts on each seats identified below retaining the seats to the seat tracks.
See Figure 1.
5. Remove each crown nut individually and apply one or two drops of item #1 Loctite to the threads of the T-Bolts
in the seat tracks and place the crown nuts back in place hand tight where the seat can be adjusted up and
down. See Figure 1.
6. Raise each lower seat bracket to the middle of the lower seat track and adjust the upper as needed to obtain a
Ref. height of 17 inches from the floor to the top of the plastic seat base (not the seat cushion). See Figure 1.
7. Re-secure the crown nuts torquing to 30-35 FT LBS. See Figure 1.
8. After the seat has been adjusted remove the stanchion cup hardware and set aside for re-installation. Inspect
the stanchion that it fits flush to the bottom of the seat stanchion cup. If not replace under normal warranty
process. Re-install existing stanchion or replacement stanchion applying item #1 Loctite to the stanchion cup
screw threads and torque to 8-10 FT-LBS. See Figure 1.

Remove Crown Nuts and Apply Loctite 243 to T-Bolts.
Adjust Lower Seat Bracket to center of the lower seat track
Adjust seat to Ref. of 17 Inches and Torque to 30-35 FT
LBS.

9. Gain access to the street side rear double cantilever seats shown below. See Figure 2.
10. Loosen the upper and lower crown nuts on each seat identified below retaining the seats to the seat tracks.
See Figure 2.
11. Remove each crown nut individually and apply one or two drops of item #1 Loctite to the threads of the T-Bolts
in the seat tracks and place the crown nuts back in place hand tight where the seat can be adjusted up and
down. See Figure 2.
12. Raise each lower seat bracket to the middle of the lower seat track and adjust the upper as needed to obtain a
Ref. height of 17 inches from the floor to the top of the plastic seat base (not the seat cushion). See Figure 2.
13. Re-secure the crown nuts torquing to 30-35 FT LBS. See Figure 2.
14. After the seat has been adjusted remove the stanchion cup hardware and set aside for re-installation. Inspect
the stanchion that it fits flush to the bottom of the seat stanchion cup. If not replace under normal warranty
process. Re-install existing stanchion or replacement stanchion applying item #1 Loctite to the stanchion cup
screw threads and torque to 8-10 FT-LBS. See Figure 2.
15. Remove all tools and debris and return bus to service condition.
