Introduction

Some 2025 model year Camry Hybrid vehicles may display an “Engine Oil Level Low” warning
message on the Multi-information Display (MID) and/or the head unit. This condition occurs
despite the gauge showing an adequate oil level. No Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are
associated with this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address
this condition.

Repair Procedure

1. Confirm the condition.
Does the vehicle display an “Engine Oil Level Low” warning message on the MID and/or the
head unit despite the gauge showing an adequate oil level?


YES — Continue to step 2.



NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.

2. Connect GTS+ to the vehicle.
3. Turn the ignition ON and go to Data List.
4. Search for the parameter titled “Total Oil Level Warning Light Counter.”
Is the value greater than 0?


YES — Continue to step 5.



NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
NOTE
 The “Total Oil Level Warning Light Counter” is an accumulated count of the total of times the
warning message has been displayed; it does not reset every key cycle.
 If the Engine Control Module (ECM) history was recently cleared, or if the ECM was recently
reset or replaced, this counter may be reset back to zero.
 The vehicle needs to be driven again to confirm the warning message and for the warning light
counter to begin counting.

Repair Procedure (continued)

5. Replace the camshaft housing sub-assy.
A. Remove the old camshaft housing sub-assy.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
 2025 Camry HV:
Engine / Hybrid System – A25A-FXS (Engine Mechanical) – Engine Unit – Disassembly
NOTE
Perform ONLY steps 24 – 46.

B. Install the NEW camshaft housing sub-assy.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
 2025 Camry HV:
Engine / Hybrid System – A25A-FXS (Engine Mechanical) – Engine Unit – Reassembly
NOTE
Perform ONLY steps 21 – 46.

6. Replace the engine oil and oil filter.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:


2025 Camry HV:
General – Maintenance – A25A-FXS Oil and Oil Filter – Replacement

7. Confirm the condition is no longer present.
