CONDITION
The new TPMS sensors in 2024 and newer GX550 and 2025 UX300H vehicles are equipped with a
noise reduction mode that reduces battery consumption when exposed to specific frequency radio
waves. Under normal conditions, the sensor transmits radio waves for 0.3 ms every 30 ms. In noise
reduction mode, the transmission cycle extends to 1000 ms, with a transmission duration of only 30
ms. This results in a very short transmission time, complicating the reading of the sensor ID with the
TPWS tool (11717-00012).
RECOMMENDATIONS
Sensor Programming and Reading: For the affected models, the TPMS sensor must be
programmed and read using GTS+ instead of the standard TPWS tool (11717-00012).
Waking the Sensor: The sensor can be awakened from noise reduction mode by applying an
acceleration of more than 8G, typically achieved by driving at around 60 MPH, depending on
tire size.
Monitoring Tire Pressure: There are no delays in tire pressure readings displayed in vehicles,
nor does it affect tire sensor resets.
