Introduction
Allison has identified a potential concern with shift quality for low-speed Neutral at Stop Coast to 1 (First Range)
shifts, related to the 6th Generation Controls feature Neutral at Stop: Coasting. As a Global Customer Satisfaction
initiative, Allison will support the proactive repair of units used in vehicles built by any Chinese OEM, New Flyer
,
Iveco (Eurocargo only) and Temsa using Neutral at Stop: Coasting mode with 6th Generation Controls until the
release of C243 software. Impacted units are eligible for this Field Action until three years from their in-service
date. This Field Action does not cover transmission service work unrelated to the symptoms described within.
NOTE: The purpose of this Field Action is to provide a proactive repair (prior to the failure occurring)
of the covered condition. Refer to the following instructions to identify affected transmissions, obtain
authorization to perform the repair and submit the proper warranty claim.

DTC P0722 — Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit – No Signal
DTC P0731 — Incorrect First Gear Ratio
DTC P27B6 — Internal Control Module Transmission Speed Sensor Performance
Before updating the Transmission Control Module (TCM) software, you must confirm that the TCM software level
is at C242 or prior. Additionally, verify the Neutral at Stop: Coasting feature is enabled. To check these items,
follow the steps outlined below.
NOTE: Screenshots confirming applicable software level and Neutral at Stop: Coasting must be
submitted with the warranty claim in 4WARD.
Confirming TCM Software
Confirm that the current TCM software level is C242 or prior. If the TCM software level is C243 or later, the unit
is not eligible under this Field Action. The software level can be found by connecting the TCM with Allison DOC®

and going to the TCM Information screen (refer to Figure 1 for new Allison DOC and Figure 2 for old Allison
DOC). The first four digits of the Calibration (CAL) ID indicate the current software level. If the software level
is C242 or prior and the vehicle is exhibiting the symptoms described above, then the software level should be
updated to C243 or later.

Confirming Neutral at Stop Low-Speed Coasting Feature
Confirm that the Neutral at Stop: Coasting feature is enabled in the transmission calibration. If the Neutral at
Stop low-speed coasting feature is not enabled, the unit is not eligible under this Field Action. The calibration
setting can be found by connecting the TCM with Allison DOC and going to the "ECU Reprogramming" tab (refer
to Figure 3), “Calibration Information” tab (refer to Figure 4) or "Customer Modifiable Constant" screen (refer to
Figure 5).

Service Action
If the above conditions are met, update the software to C243 or later by programming based on the TCM serial
number in new Allison DOC or in TCM Reflash™. To receive the latest software level, it is necessary to check the
box labeled “Download Latest Calibration”.
NOTE: The “Download Latest Calibration” option should only be used when there is a specific need to
update the software.

Warranty Information
Allison service outlets shall submit a 4WARD claim for each transmission serial number completed under the
Field Action. In each Field Action 4WARD claim, any labor or travel cost beyond the scope of the Field Action
letter (1 hour of labor and travel cost) but necessitated by the Field Action must be explained and justified in the
claim narrative, otherwise they will be deducted from the claim.
Work unrelated to the scope of the Field Action must have a separate dedicated 4WARD claim submitted.
Allison service outlets must follow the published Allison current labor time guide for work performed when adding
any additional charges.
Claim Submittal Information
Approved authorized Allison service outlets must submit work performed per this Field Action as outlined in Table
1. This Global Customer Satisfaction Field Action initiative remains active three years from the in-service date of
the vehicle. Submit all 2025FA10 claims as Claim Type Campaign.
Include an attached Allison DOC screen capture of the “DTC and General Information” page showing the TCM
serial number and CAL ID fields prior to updating the calibration as shown in Figure 1 and an attached Allison
DOC screen capture of the “Calibration Information” page showing the Neutral at Stop: Coasting field prior to
updating the calibration as shown in Figure 3, Figure 4 and Figure 5.
