Repair instructions

Technical background
The following Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning lamps can show on DIP following replacement of the wheel assemblies. Either a
partial active warning or fault warning will be shown. Example below:

Fault Warning

The tyre pressure monitoring system fails to learn and display actual pressure values when the wheel assemblies are replaced. The Tyre
Pressure Monitoring Control unit retains the sensor IDs as per original built conditions and the wheel position. This is until the unit is introduced
to GEN4 car set of wheel sensors / assemblies which resolves the fault.

Remedy
Replace the fitted TPMS sensors to Gen 4 level on each wheel.
The TPMS ECU starts learning new GEN4 sensors automatically in the background and displays correct pressure values within 10 minutes of
drive cycle when vehicle speed is more than 15Km/h.

event that the campaign has not been applied, please carry out the required work in accordance with these instructions.

Tools
•

A long hexagonal socket (clearance min. 0.98in (25mm)), wrench size 11, is required to fix the valve.

•

Screwdriver with torque 6Nm ± 10%.

•

Pliers with jaws protected by rubber sleeves must be used to prevent damage to the valve body and the coating.

Work
Follow the instructions below for a TPMS replacement

Once the TPMS has been replaced, the TPMS ECU starts learning new GEN4 sensors automatically in the background and displays correct

pressure values within 10 minutes of drive cycle when vehicle speed is more than 15Km/h.

Identification
Once the applicable action has been conducted, the operative must submit a warranty claim as this will show the service campaign action as
complete within Elsa Pro “Repair history”.
You must also the open bonnet and remove the air grille add a yellow paint mark as shown below.
