Warranty Extension: 2014–19 MDX and 2017–19 MDX Sport Hybrid – Moisture in the Inner Taillights

What is the reason for this Warranty Extension?
An uneven sealing surface allows moisture to enter the inner taillight(s), causing one or both of the inner taillights
not to work.
Acura is extending the warranty coverage on the inner taillights, related to this condition, to 9 years from the
original date of purchase with no mileage limitation.
This warranty extension provides coverage for the original owner and any subsequent owners. No action is
required on your part unless you experience a problem. This warranty extension will not apply to any vehicle that
has ever been declared a total loss or sold for salvage by a financial institution or insurer or has a branded or
similar title under any state's law.
What will Acura do?
If your vehicle is experiencing a problem related to this condition, call any authorized Acura dealer and make an
appointment to have your vehicle inspected and repaired. If the moisture in the inner taillights is related to a
manufacturing defect, the repair will be done for FREE. Once you make an appointment for your vehicle, be
advised that the total inspection and replacement process may take approximately 1 hour. However, your dealer
can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this service visit, as it may be necessary to make
your vehicle available for a longer period of time.

Please forward a copy of this notice to the lessee.
What to do if you feel this notice is in error
Our records show that you are the current owner or lessee of a 2014-19 MDX or 2017-19 MDX Sport Hybrid
vehicle involved in this warranty extension. If this is not the case, or the name/address information is not correct,
please fill out and return the enclosed, postage-paid Information Change Card. We will then update our records.
If you previously paid to have your inner taillights replaced due to this condition, you may be eligible for
reimbursement, even if you no longer own the vehicle. Refer to the attached reimbursement instructions for
eligibility requirements and the reimbursement procedure.

¿Cuál es el motivo de esta extensión de garantía?
Una superficie de sellado no uniforme permite que ingrese la humedad a la luz (luces) trasera(s) interior(es),
ocasionando que una o ambas de las luces traseras interiores no funcionen.
Acura está extendiendo la cobertura de la garantía de las luces traseras interiores, relacionados con esta
condición, a 9 años a partir de la fecha original de compra sin límite de millas.
Esta extensión de garantía brinda cobertura al propietario original y a cualquier propietario subsiguiente. No se
.
requiere ninguna acción de su parte a menos que usted experimente algún problema. Esta extensión de garantía
no aplicará a cualquier vehículo que alguna vez se haya declarado pérdida total o que se haya vendido para su
recuperación por una institución financiera o compañía de seguros o que tenga una marca o título similar conforme
alguna ley estatal.
¿Qué hará Acura?
Si su vehículo tiene un problema relacionado con esta condición, llame a cualquier concesionario autorizado
Acura y programe una cita para que inspeccionen y reparen su vehículo. Si la humedad en las luces traseras
interiores está relacionada con un defecto de fabricación, la reparación se realizará de forma GRATUITA. Una vez
que programe una cita para su vehículo, le avisamos que el proceso de inspección y reemplazo completo podría
tardar aproximadamente 1 hora. No obstante, su concesionario le puede ofrecer un mejor estimado del tiempo
total de esta visita de servicio, ya que pudiera ser necesario que su vehículo esté disponible por un periodo de
tiempo más largo.
Información para el arrendador
Por favor envié una copia de esta notificación al arrendatario.
Qué debe hacer si considera que esta notificación es errónea
Nuestros registros indican que usted es el propietario o arrendatario actual de un vehículo MDX 2014-2019 o MDX
Sport Hybrid 2017-2019, el cual forma parte de esta extensión de garantía. Si no es el caso, o si la información de
nombre/dirección no está correcta, por favor llene y devuelva la tarjeta de cambio de Información anexa pre-pagada.
Con esto actualizaremos nuestros registros.
Si anteriormente pagó para reemplazar las luces traseras interiores debido esta condición, puede ser elegible para
un reembolso, aunque ya no sea el propietario del vehículo. Consulte las instrucciones para el reembolso que se
encuentra anexa para ver los requisitos de elegibilidad y el procedimiento de reembolso.
