This bulletin applies to vehicles built on and before October 14, 2024
(MDH 1014XX) equipped with 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo Engine W/ESS
(Sales Code ECX).

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC):
● B273C-00 - Digital Crash Input.
NOTE: Technicians may find the DTC is stored or pending in the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP).
Customers may experience one or more of the following:
● The "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning” message and Light are displayed in the Instrument
Panel Cluster (IPC) Fig. 1.
NOTE: This message may be displayed for a few seconds and then disappear.
● The vehicle may no longer enter Electric or Hybrid drive modes.

CAUSE:

Electromagnetic noise on R414 circuit

This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 08-116-25, date of issue April 12, 2025, which
should be removed from your files. All revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** and include an
updated Repair Pocedure.
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-062,
date of issue April 12, 2025. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.
NOTE: The RSU portion of this service bulletin covers unsold vehicles only.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
WARNING!
● Before performing the software reprogramming, it is necessary to make the vehicle safe.
● When performing repairs that directly involve or imply possible contact with live high voltage
components/systems, the technician must ensure that the power supply of the high-voltage system
is disconnected throughout the operation.
● Only specifically trained technicians qualified to perform repairs on vehicles with high voltage
systems under current national laws/regulations are authorized to work on the vehicle.
● Before performing any diagnostic repair work on the vehicle, carefully read and comply with
the general instructions for working safely on hybrid/electric vehicles and use suitable general
equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

1. **Is the vehicle on the RSU list?
● YES >>> Proceed to Step 3.
● NO >>> Proceed to Step 2.
2. Is DTC B273C-00 stored or pending in the HCP?
● YES >>> Proceed to Step 3.
● NO >>> This bulletin does not apply.
3. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT >
Service Library> under: 12 - Electrified Powertrain System / High Voltage Battery / Standard Procedure.
4. Remove the high battery voltage closeout panel. Refer to the detailed procedures available in
DealerCONNECT > Service Library> under: 23 - Body / Interior / Panel, High Voltage Battery Closeout /
Removal.
5. Locate on the body harness high voltage battery connector D8119E Fig. 2.

6. Remove the cover on D8199E connector Fig. 2.
7. Remove offset clip 1108 Fig. 2 from wire harness. If necessary to gain better accessibility to the
harness, remove stud clip 1107 from the stud.

8. Carefully remove the harness protective tape from D8119E to the remaining stud clip 1107 Fig. 2 from the
wire harness.
9. Locate R414A in cavity 16, located in connector D8119E Fig. 2 and remove the dark green/beige circuit
wire Fig. 3.

10. Place circuit R414A through the ferrite bead and install the ferrite bead between clips 1107 and 1108 Fig.
2 and Fig. 3 .
11. Install two butyl patches around wire circuit R414A at both openings of the ferrite bead Fig. 3.
12. Place Heat Shrink tube over circuit R414A and ferrite bead Fig. 3.
13. Using a heat gun, heat the heat shrink tubing around ferrite bead, ensuring sealant flows out of each end
tubing Fig. 3.
14. Install wire circuit R414A back into connector D8119E Fig. 2 cavity 16.
15. Install conduit from kit over ferrite bead assembly.
16. Install protective tape from D8119E over ferrite bead conduit and to clip 1107. If removed to gain better
accessibility to the harness, install clip 1107 on the stud.
17. Install the D8119E connector cover Fig. 2.
18. Install the high battery voltage closeout panel. Refer to the detailed procedures available in
DealerCONNECT > Service Library> under: 23 - Body / Interior / Panel, High Voltage Battery Closeout /
Installation.
19. Clear any DTCs that may have been set.
20. Power up the high voltage system. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT >
Service Library> under: 12 - Electrified Powertrain System / High Voltage Battery / Standard Procedure.**
