Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a wind noise that has been isolated to
the hard top front panel to panel seal.
Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure to
apply 3M™ Strip-Caulk, Soft Butyl (08578) between the hard top front panel and the panel to panel seal.

not altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SPNV/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and

Not Use With Any Other Labor Operations)

Service Procedure
1. Remove the passenger hard top front panel. Refer to WSM, Section 501-18B.
2. Using a flashlight, inspect the seal to hard top panel interface. Is there light visible? (Figures 1-2)
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 3. (Figure 1)

(2). No - this article does not apply. Refer to WSM for normal diagnostics. (Figure 2)

3. Peel back the front portion of the panel to panel seal. (Figures 3-4)

4. Apply 1 strip 1.5 inches (40 mm) in length of 3M™ Strip-Caulk on the hard top panel. (Figure 5)

(1). When applying the 3M™ Strip-Caulk, start at the front of the panel and follow the curve of the inner panel.
5. Once the 3M™ Strip-Caulk strip is applied, reinstall the seal and press firmly down on the seal where the 3M™
Strip-Caulk was applied to make sure proper adhesion. (Figure 6)

6. Once the seal is reinstalled, reassemble the vehicle.
