● 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine Upg I w/ESS (Sales Code ERC).

CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle may
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
● P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire.
● P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire.
● P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire.
● P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire.
● P0305 - Cylinder 5 Misfire.
● P0306 - Cylinder 6 Misfire.
Customers may comment on one or more of the following:
● Rough idle.
● Valvetrain noise.

Manufacturing issue
DISCUSSION:
This Information Only TSB is to communicate the conditions described in the Customer Symptoms above
that may be related to worn intake camshaft high lift lobe(s), and/or intake rocker arm(s) high lift slider wear.
“Typical” mileage range to see this failure falls within 10,000-60,000 miles (16,093 - 96,560 Kms). There is a
special service kit for this type of repair which should be used instead of replacing the complete engine/long
block. Camshaft kit number(s) 68661147AB (Right Intake) and/or 68661146AA (Left Intake). These kits contain
the parts required for the repair (intake cam, rocker arms, sealer and gaskets).
