MX11 and MX13

Introduction:
In April 2025, OEMs using PACCAR MX11 and MX13 engines will begin using a new configuration bolt to fasten
flexplates to the 4000 Series transmission flexplate adapter. This change is made only to facilitate ease of
installation in the OEM factory.
The current bolt is slightly longer in length from the flange to the bolt end. The current bolt is visibly distinguishable
by its unthreaded end – refer to Figure 1. The additional length necessitated a change to the depth of the tapped
hole in the corresponding flexplate adapter for clearance – refer to Figure 2. Due to a potential interference
between the current bolt and the former flexplate adapter (refer to Table 1), and because the former bolt services
both flexplate adapters, the current bolt will not be available for service. The former bolt will continue to be available
as a service part servicing the former and current configurations. Installation method and installation torque are
unchanged. Do not mix current and former bolt part numbers in the same assembly.
Installation Drawings in Allison Tech Data are AS04-508C (MX11 with 4000 Series) and AS04-536A (MX13 with
4000 Series). These revised engine adaptation drawings now include the current flexplate adapter (P/N 29571437),
while showing the M-point flexplate adapter bolt (P/N 29571438) as "optional". Both drawings also reference the
original flexplate adapter bolt (P/N 11505232) and unchanged torque requirements for either bolt design.
