Information:

The customer complains about the failure of various driver assistance systems and corresponding notes
(white warning message) in the instrument cluster, for example:

Lane Keep Assist currently not available
Active Lane Keeping currently not available
Speed limit display not available
Proactive occupant protection currently reduced
Warn and Brake Assist reduced

After an ignition change, all systems are available again and the warning messages no longer occur.
One or several of the following fault memory entries are passively stored in the fault memory of the control
unit for driver assistance systems (ZFAS):

C12D5FA - Control unit for driver assistance systems, image processing processor does not react
B200FF3 - Internal fault (036009)
B200FF9 - control unit defective (205019)

Replacement of the components does not correct the problem in this complaint and does not provide any
remedy. Unauthorized invoiced work or unauthorized exchanged parts are charged back.

Information
This TI only applies if the said fault memory entries are passively stored in the Driver Assistance system
control unit (ZFAS).
If one or several fault memory entries are actively stored or another fault memory entry is stored in the Driver
Assistance system control unit (ZFAs), this TI is not applicable and the troubleshooting must be continued
otherwise.
Cause:

The causes for the respective stored fault memory entry vary.

Action:

C12D5FA - In very rare cases, the image processing processor (EyeQ3) can get stuck during booting
and leads to the above-mentioned customer complaint.
B200FF3 - An internal communication error in the Driver Assistance systems control unit (ZFAS) can in
rare cases lead to the above-mentioned customer complaint.
B200FF9 - The monitoring function in the driver assistance systems control unit (ZFAS) detects an
irreversible fault in very rare cases and thus causes a reset, which can lead to the above-mentioned
customer complaint.

If there is a customer complaint, ensure that the most current software is installed on the driver assistance
systems control unit (ZFAS).
To do this, proceed as follows:

If there are open workshops or recall campaigns on the vehicle in question, they must first be carried out.
For vehicles with integration test, ensure that there are no software or hardware deviations and correct
them if necessary.

Information
The most current software of the driver assistance systems control unit (ZFAS) is applicable if there are no
open campaigns or if the integration test does not detect a software or hardware deviation.

Then delete the fault memory entry or the fault memory entries (C12D5FA and/or B200FF3 and/or
B200FF9) in the Driver Assistance systems control unit (ZFAS) - end of action.
