2.0 Tire Pressure Management System
(TPMS)
Purpose:
This bulletin provides instructions to install a tire pressure management system (TPMS) on a vehicle
manufactured in the second half of model year 2024.
Notice:
• Read and understand this bulletin in its entirety before performing this procedure.
• All procedures outlined in the bulletin must be performed by skilled service personnel. Refer to the product
service manual for descriptions of maintenance procedures.

Perform your company’s Lockout/Tagout
procedure. If your company does not have a
Lockout/Tagout procedure, follow OSHA
1910.147 and 1910.146 Confined Space as
appropriate.

Procedure
Lockout/Tagout
1. Park vehicle on a flat surface, block vehicle tires, and perform your company’s Lockout/Tagout procedure.
If your company does not have a Lockout/Tagout procedure, follow OSHA 1910.147 and 1910.146 Confined
Space as appropriate.
2. The vehicle’s BATTERY DISCONNECT switch is located on the left-hand side of the battery box. Use the
battery disconnect switch when performing any maintenance so the vehicle cannot accidentally be started.
a. Turn the battery disconnect switch (Figure A, Item 1) counterclockwise so the hole on the switch aligns
with the hole in the bracket (Figure A, Item 2).
b. Install the safety lockout device ring (Figure B, Item 1) through the holes on the battery disconnect switch
and the bracket.
c. Install a padlock (Figure B, Item 2) onto the safety lockout device ring, lock it, and put the key in your
pocket. If more than one person is working on the vehicle, each person must install his or her own padlock.

3. Locate existing transceiver mounting holes on back of rear cab crossmember. See Figure 1.
4. Install transceiver and isolator pad (A001G935) on rear cab crossmember with cap screws (A000H889) and
lock nuts (A000F376), make sure antenna is pointed down. See Figure 1. Final tighten mounting hardware to
19 in lbs.
5. Locate connectors C600 and C601 on chassis harness near rear cab crossmember. See Figure 1.
6. Connect connector C600 to short transceiver lead and connector C601 to long transceiver lead. See
Figure 1.
7. Secure connector and transceiver leads to chassis harness below PVC protection pipe with cable ties
(A000C018). See Figure 1.

8. Remove and discard all wheel valve stem caps from vehicle. Go to Step 9 for single tire axle sensor
installation or Step 11 for dual tire axle sensor installation.

9. Thread TPMS sensor (A001G079) on all single tire wheel valve stems until hand-tight. See Figure 2.

Continue to Step 11 for dual tire axle sensor installation, if required, otherwise go to Step 18.

Thread inner wheel extension (A001G082) on inner wheel valve stem until hand-tight. See Figure 3.

Install inner wheel extension mounting bracket on wheel stud that is two studs counter-clockwise from
inner wheel valve stem. See Figure 3.

Secure inner wheel extension mounting bracket to wheel stud with jam nut (A001H338). See Figure 3.
Final tighten jam nut to 90 ft. lbs. and apply blue torque inspection sealant (A000E552) to jam nut.

Thread outer wheel extension (A001G083) on outer wheel valve stem. See Figure 3.

Install outer wheel extension mounting bracket on wheel stud that is two studs counter-clockwise from
valve stem. See Figure 3.
16.
Secure outer wheel extension mounting bracket to wheel stud with jam nut (A001H338). See Figure 3.
Final tighten jam nut to 90 ft. lbs. and apply blue torque inspection sealant (A000E552) to jam nut.

Thread TPMS sensor (A001G079) on end of inner and outer extensions hand tight. See Figure 3.

Contact S-Series service to schedule required software updates to telematics control unit (TCU), cab
overhead display, and front control module. See Figure 4 and Figure 5.

Log in as Fleet Manager and update Hydraulic Oil Level Sensor build option in display settings to Not
Installed. See Figure 6.

Log out as Fleet Manager.

Programming a Tire Sensor
Program a new tire sensor ID to a tire location as soon
as possible. Failure to do so will result in a TPMS
Malfunction and Signal Missing fault for the selected
tire location.
To replace a tire sensor the Fleet Manager must be
logged in.

Navigate to the Tire Pressure tab on the Truck
Status screen. See Figure 8.

Select the tire location in need of programming
to navigate to the Tire Details screen.

Select the program button on the bottom right of
the Tire Details screen.
A replacement sensor can be programmed via the
Program Sensor screen by selecting the Value field in
the Tire Sensor ID row.
A numeric entry keypad appears on screen.
The fleet manager is then be able to type in the
12-digit sensor ID found of the face of the TPMS tire
sensor.

25. The default system baseline pressure is 120
PSI. Adjust desired baseline pressure using the
+/- buttons to any pressure between 90 – 130 PSI.
Baseline pressure can be changed at any time for an
existing sensor using the Program Sensor screen.
26. Selecting Save overwrites an existing tire
sensor ID (there is no need to delete the existing
sensor ID beforehand). A Save Successful message
appears in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Selecting Delete removes the existing tire sensor
ID from memory, without adding a new sensor ID.
