CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
● P0248-00 - Turbocharger-Supercharger Wastegate Actuator B Range-performance.
● P2B94-00 - Wastegate Position Sensor B Exceeded Learning Limit.
Customers may also experience the following:
● Lack of acceleration from the turbo.

CAUSE:

Incorrectly installed wastegate rod retention clips

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-068,
date of issue April 16, 2025. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the clean air tube. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 09 - Engine, 3.0L GMET6 / Air Intake System / Tube, Intake Air / Removal.
2. Using a caliper, measure the dimensions of the two wastegate rod retaining clips on the actuator side Fig.

3. Is the measurement of either wastegate rod retaining clip on the actuator side greater than 13.70 mm (0.5
in.)?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 4.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 5.
4. Replace any wastegate rod retaining clip on the actuator side that measures larger than 13.70 mm (0.5
in.).

5. Using a caliper, measure the dimensions of the two wastegate rod retaining clips on the housing side Fig.
1.
6. Is the measurement of either of the wastegate rod retaining clips on the housing side greater than 17.78
mm (0.7 in.)?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 7.
● NO>>> This bulletin has been completed, use Inspect LOP (09-44-03-92) to close this active RSU and
proceed to Step 8.
7. Replace any wastegate rod retaining clip on the housing side that measures larger than 17.78 mm (0.7 in.).
8. Install the clean air tube. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 09 - Engine, 3.0L GMET6 / Air Intake System / Tube, Intake Air / Installation.
9. Clear DTCs.
