This service bulletin provides repair information to correct a customer concern of a transmission fluid leak.
Subject: Transmission Fluid Leak Near Torque Converter Housing Area
This bulletin replaces PIP6025. Please discard PIP6025.
This bulletin only applies to 8T65/45 or 9T45/50/60/65 transmissions.

Some technicians may comment on a transmission fluid leak coming from the torque converter housing.

This condition may be caused by the transmission pump bolts were not fully torqued.
Note: Service replacement transmission assemblies received may be built in the same Julian date range. If that occurs replacement
of the pump bolts must be performed before the transmission is installed in the vehicle.
For Transmission Julian Date, refer to Transmission Identification Information in SI.
Check transmission Julian build date:
• If the transmission Julian date is between 24 160 and 24 311 and the vehicle comes in with a transmission leak in the torque
converter housing area, order the bolt kit as required.
Cause
Note: Example TUN where Julian date is found: 13241794TKBP0151 (Date Reads 13[24179]4TKBP0151).
• Once the bolt kit arrives, remove the transmission, and verify that the bolts are loose.
• If loose, replace all the bolts and reinstall the transmission.
Note: Service replacement transmission assemblies received may be built in the same Julian date range. If that occurs check
the transmission label for a Yellow Dot on it.

If a Yellow Dot is seen the pump bolts have already been replaced and no further action is required.
If No Yellow Dot is seen and the transmission is built in the Julian date range, then the pump bolts must be replaced before the
transmission is installed into the vehicle.

Note: Service transmission assembly bolt replacement should use bulletin labor operation noted. 1.0 hour has been
included for the labor time. Also include the pump cover bolt kit in the parts cost.
