Note: For the 2025 Equinox, DTC P27EC- (transmission range control valve position
sensor circuit performance) will set before a P2797, when there is a transmission auxiliary pump or harness failure. Service Information document 6358266 has been updated at
step 4 of the diagnostic path to support this change in vehicle reaction and guides the
technician to document 6358483 for proper diagnostics.
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
• Start/Stop inoperative
• MIL illuminated
Technicians may find DTC P2797 (Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump Performance)
set in the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

Cause

This condition may be caused by an internal failure in the auxiliary fluid pump.

Correction

Replace the auxiliary transmission pump and wiring harness. Refer to Automatic
Transmission Fluid Pump Removal and Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump
Installation in SI.
Important: To remove the pump assembly, grasp the turbine shaft and remove the forward clutch and pump assembly as one piece. Keep the clutch assembly inserted in the
pump. This will protect the shaft seals, and they will not need to be replaced.
⇒ Refer to Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble in SI for instructions on replacing
the auxiliary pump.
