REPAIR STEP(s)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE:
1. Remove and discard four bearing strap bolts and two straps from the transmission yoke.
2. Using a suitable lifting device, remove the drive shaft yoke (2) from the transmission yoke (6) and lower the driveshaft
(3).
3. Inspect the transmission yoke, seal, bolt, and washer for damage and replace if necessary.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
1. Using a yoke holding device or suitable equivalent, torque the transmission yoke bolt to 80-100 lb-ft (108-135 Nm).
2. Using a paint pen, mark the yoke, bolt, and washer as shown below.
3. Using a suitable lifting device, raise the driveshaft and insert the driveshaft yoke into the transmission yoke.
4. Using new strap kit PN 1685128C91, install two new bearing straps to the transmission yoke with four new bearing strap
bolts. Torque strap bolts to 52 lb-ft (70 Nm).
5. Lubricate U-joints.
