Customer states:

+ The vehicle/high-voltage battery cannot be charged via AC.

+ The drive system cannot be activated.

+ The vehicle cannot be unlocked with the key fob.

+ The high voltage charging flap cannot be opened.

+ The charging connector cannot be unplugged.
Workshop findings:

+ The customer statement can be reproduced.

+ The 12v battery is discharged.

In the control unit for high-voltage battery charging unit (diagnostic address 00C6), either one of the following DTC
entries (intermittent/static) is stored for the AC fuse:

+ P1A0800: Charging unit 1 fuse blown Symptom: 397395.

+ P1A0F00: Charging unit 2 fuse blown Symptom: 397396.

+ P1A1600: Charging unit 3 fuse blown Symptom: 397397.
Technical Background

Hardware issue in control unit for the high voltage battery charging unit (diagnostic address 00C6).

Only the control unit for the high voltage battery charging unit (diagnostic address 00C6) with software

part number: 1EA.915.692.M and software: 2007/2207 is affected by this complaint.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service
1. AC fuse: Perform charge test, delete event memory entry, and reassess complaint, and if necessary
replace charging unit for high-voltage battery - J1050 -.
AC fuse:
Carry out an AC charge test, delete the DTC entry/entries and reevaluate the complaint:
+ If the charge test is successful and the DTC entry/entries can be deleted:
a. The measures are completed, and the vehicle can be returned to the customer.
+ Ifthe charge test is not successful and/or the event memory entry/entries cannot be deleted, then the high-
voltage battery charging unit - J1050 - must be replaced as per the ELSA Workshop Manual.
