In the event the issue is as described the operative should conduct the instructions within the Measure section

1) Referring to the applicable wiring diagram - Conduct an electrical integrity check of the N509 gearbox cooling valve circuit
2) Referring to Figures 1, 2 and 3 - Conduct a visual inspection to confirm if the harness shown (CIRCLE) has any damage relating to contact
with the steering shaft .

In the event the issue is as described the operative must conduct the remaining instructions (step 3 and 4) to completion
and repair the damaged cable(s)
3) Referring to Rep.Gr 97 - Wiring harness repairs - Repair the damaged wiring using the VAS 1978B wiring repair kit
4) Secure the harness as shown in Figure 4
CAUTION
Ensure the wiring harness is secured / clipped to a solid location DO NOT SECURE THE HARNESS TO ANY MOVING
