Tyre pressure sensor: low battery warning is evident with the Drivers Information Panel (DIP)

Workshop findings
One or a combination of the following DTC’s may also be evident
•

C105016 – Left Front Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor Voltage too low

•

C105116 - Right Front Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor Voltage too low

•

C105216 - Left Rear Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor Voltage too low

•

C105316 - Right Rear Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor Voltage too low

Technical Background
In the event that one or a combination of the DTC’s are evident the tyre pressure transmitter will require replacing as described within the
Measure section
However
The customer must be made aware that in some cases the battery life of the tyre pressure transmitters can be affected by external radio
frequencies as the wheel transmitter can trigger if a device is adjacent to the vehicle and transmitting at the same frequency as the TPMS system
for example:
•

Garage door opening transmitter

•

Gate opening transmitter

•

Radio transmitter

The operative must advise the customer to confirm there are no such devices where the car is regularly parked to avoid further issues
NOTICE
The car should be parked a minimum of 1 metre away from any transmitters which can cause interference with the TPMS
system

Check the battery life of the other TPMS sensors on the car - Refer to ODIS address 0065 (Figure 1)

month(s) in this scenario the operative MUST add a supporting ODIS screenshot to the applicable DISS query to support
the warranty claim
