Insert an empty USB flash drive into the PC. After the FREEDOM XC PRO Inverter/Charger unit
On the USB drive, create a folder titled exactly: has been turned off for a minute, insert the USB
Xantrex_Firmware flash drive into the unit.

Place both files “fxcc.enc” and “fxcc_manifest.
cbor”, from the downloaded zip file, onto
the “Xantrex_Firmware” folder on the USB Press the Inverter/Charger button down into the
flash drive. ON state. Turn on the inverter/charger directly via
the DC source. The inverter/charger LED should
flash to show that the USB drive is recognized,
STEP 3 and the firmware is being updated. Please wait
for at least 3 minutes to ensure the flashing has
stopped to denote that the update is complete.

Safely eject the USB drive from the PC. TeeCne: |)
STEP 4
After the LED has stopped flashing, use the
inverter’s local display to view the new U3 firmware
| version (U3 ## ##) via navigating the “*" button.
It is now safe to remove the USB flash drive from
the unit. An example is shown below for reference.
Turn off all AC loads, and AC inputs (ex: vehicle
engine). Turn off the DC source directly, and
ensure that the FREEDOM XC PRO Inverter/
Charger button is depressed into the OFF state.
