Situation:
JLR Engineering investigations have identified a number of vehicles where the engine coolant expansion tank
cap has been replaced due to slight seepage or the engine coolant expansion tank cap not holding pressure
when pressure tested.
Cause:
Under investigation. Completing the actions within the service request below will assist Engineering in
determining root cause.
Action:
Refer to the service request below.
Service Request:
In instances where the engine coolant expansion tank cap requires replacement due to slight seepage, or the
engine coolant expansion tank cap not holding pressure when pressure tested, replace the engine coolant
expansion tank cap but do not discard the removed part, it will be required for a Parts Return Request (PRR)
which will be arranged by the relevant JLR Engineering team.
Raise an Electronic Product Quality Report (EPQR) which must include the information below:
Reference to PTS_500
Reference to P373122
Reference to this SSM (SSM76258)
Any relevant photographs
Confirmation that the removed part(s) are being retained for collection by PRR
(Ref 000373122 / 3931)
