Ember ‘Congoleum’ Repair Instructions
Purpose
This document outlines the procedure to repair the linoleum floor according to
Ember quality standards.

Procedure: Patch

Traditional Repair Method
Bond & Seal Repair Method

1. Identify the best match replacement linoleum section and cut the section with a
minimum of 1/4” wider than the grout lines.

2. Secure the replacement linoleum with tape over the damaged area. Using a straight
edge and utility knife cut through both layers around all four sides; be sure to have the
blade perpendicular to the floor's surface.

3. Remove repair and damage section; discard damaged section. Then apply
Congoleum Quik Stick Tape QS120 about ½” under the main linoleum floor. Secure
tape in place using the small hand roller.

4. Remove the release liner from the tape. Lay the repair section into place ensuring all
the seams are nice and tight. Use a small hand roller to embed the repair section into
the adhesive.

5. Apply Congoleum SU-80 Seam Sealer to all seams of the repaired area. Ensure seam
applicator tip is inserted between the two sections.

6. Let seam sealer set for a couple of hours; repair is complete.

Procedure: Full Replacement
Note: These instructions are applicable for all Overland model years and Touring model year
2024 only.
1. Remove the sofa, steps, and other furniture that is on the floor; do not remove
cabinets, interior walls, or shower pan.
2. Using a utility knife remove the damaged linoleum by cutting around the cabinets.
Note: You will use the damaged linoleum as a template for the replacement linoleum.

3. Clean the subfloor thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
4. In an open area, lay the damaged linoleum over the replacement linoleum. Using a
pencil trace pattern onto the replacement linoleum. Do not use a sharpie marker as it
will stain and seep through the material.
5. Using heavy-duty scissors or a utility knife cut the replacement linoleum pattern.
7. Install replacement linoleum onto the subfloor and secure it with Air Step Adhesive
around the floor openings. Use a small hand roller to embed the linoleum into the
adhesive. Ensure the subfloor is dry before installation.
6. Use ½” batten trim around cabinet areas for extra security.
