MX-11 engine are eligible to receive software improvements to increase vehicle uptime and functionality of
emissions fault detection. The following area will be updated:

MX-11 engine are eligible to receive software improvements to increase vehicle uptime and functionality of
emissions fault detection. The following area will be updated:
Allow Forward NOx sensor deviations to be detected prior to OBD Emission Limit (OBDEL) exceedance.
The issue listed above will not result in a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or an issue with vehicle functionality/drivability.

Emissions Recall
1. Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
2. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list.
3. In Service Management, select Campaign E321 to add it to the case. If the unit is released back into service without performing the repair, make sure
to also release the Campaign in Service Management.
4. If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review SIR for “Complete” next to the E321 campaign code prior to performing this
repair.
5. Campaign 43-072 MUST be completed prior to performing campaign E321.
Check SIR to determine if campaign 43-072 is open for the chassis you are working on.
If 43-072 is open, please refer to the bulletin and complete all necessary repairs and software updates per bulletin procedures.
Once all repairs /updates for 43-072 are complete, continue with the procedures in this bulletin.
If 43-072 shows complete or does not apply to your chassis, continue with the procedures in this bulletin.
6. Follow the procedures attached in the Links section to update software for the PCI-2 and EAS-4.

Peterbilt
Motors Company has determined that certain Model 365, 520, 567, and 579 chassis manufactured from 05/19/2017 through 01/18/2019
and equipped with EMY18 PACCAR
MX-11 engines fail to conform with emission control requirements. Your vehicle may be releasing pollutants
which exceed regulatory standards. Due to issues with engine and aftertreatment control software, On Board Diagnostics were unable to detect
issues with the Forward NOx Sensor within regulatory limits. This can cause NOx to exceed the regulatory limit.
What is the problem?
Engine and aftertreatment software issues are causing On Board Diagnostics not to detect issues
with the Forward NOx sensor within regulatory limits.
What will your dealer do?
Your dealer will apply software updates to the PCI-2 and EAS-4 modules to allow for Forward NOx
fault detection within regulatory limits.
What should you do?
Contact your dealer immediately to schedule an appointment.
