Grecale Unwanted Alarm Activation

This Diagnostic Sheet serves as a guide and provides additional diagnostic info for possible
unwanted alarm trigger/activation anomalies. This Diagnostic sheet requires a BOL to be opened
as a “Support Request”.

MODELS: M182 Grecale (All MY) equipped with OPT LSA (ALARM SYSTEM).
SECTION: 08.53 - 1 ALARM SYSTEM AND IMMOBILISER
COMPLAINT: Unwanted alarm system activation
CAUSE: Under investigation
DTC: Possible presence of DTC U110D - 00 in ITM
DIAGNOSIS: Proceed as follows if a customer complains of the fault described in this technical notice:

Open a BOL as a Support Request
Fill out and attach the checklist on page 2 to the BOL.

Were the windows, doors, tailgate, and bonnet closed when the complaint occurred? __________
Make sure that there are no objects in the car that could move and trigger the alarm. Are there such
objects in the car? __________
Check the battery status following MAS004251 and attach the required information.
Attach the DTC report and vehicle parameters.
ITM checks:

Check the following on connector L164 (ITM) using the wiring diagram:

Power supply (approx. 12V)
Ground (including visual inspection)
BH-CAN resistance after having disconnected the battery (expected value: approx. 60 Ohm)
Check the integrity of pins and connections.

b.

Check that the front ceiling light is fitted correctly according to the "FRONT CEILING LIGHT Removal-Refitting or Replacement" procedure in the workshop manual (procedure no.
08.10.001 - 00"). Is the ceiling light mounted correctly? _______________

c.

Following the front ceiling light removal-refitting procedure, remove the front ceiling light
(document any faults found with photos):

Check that the ITM is fixed correctly -> Attach a photo to BOL naming it "ITM fixing" (front photo of the
fitted module)

Check that the ITM is fixed with the 3 clips marked in red in the following picture. Is the module fitted
correctly? ___________

NOTE: The ultrasonic sensors are fragile and must be handled with care. Avoid any direct pressure on

CHECKLIST:

Clear DTC and check that the alarm system is working correctly by following the instructions
below:

Activate the alarm
No objects and/or people inside the vehicle that can cause movement.
Vehicle doors, luggage compartment, and windows closed, except for the window used for the test.
Movement outside the window, left open for the test, must be restricted to the person performing the
test. The person performing the test must be at least 1 m away from the window during the activation
cycle.
Did the alarm go off on its own during the test (within about 5 minutes) and did the hazard lights flash
when the event occurred? ___________

Attach the new DTC report and vehicle parameters.

10) Siren checks:
a.

Check the ground (visual inspection), power supply (approx. 12 V), connectors, and wiring
(connection integrity) of the siren (connector E001 on wiring diagram). Were any faults found?

Check the continuity of LIN wiring between the siren and ITM. Is the continuity OK? ________
(record value in Ohm)

c.

Check for signs of oxidation on the connector pins. Were there signs of oxidation? _______ If so,
take photos to be attached to the BOL for documentation purposes
With the key in OFF, check the siren power supply and supply the value ____________ V
