INSPECTION:
1. Locate the left (driver side) and right (passenger side) Rear Door Rear Sash
Covers.

2. Verify if the left (driver side) or right (passenger side) Rear Door Rear Sash
Cover is loose or missing (Figures 3 & 4).

• Place your finger at the top/forward section of the sash cover (Figure 3)
• While ONLY bending at the finger joint, use moderate pulling pressure to
check if Rear Door Rear Sash Cover is loose (Figure 4)
➢ NO > the sash cover is tight and pulls away from the body creating an
opening that is approximately 4mm or LESS.
The part is GOOD. No further action is required. Submit claim using Op
Code and PMA440 per Claims Information.
➢ YES > the sash cover is loose and pulls away from the body creating an
opening approximately GREATER than 4mm (Figure 4).
The part is NO GOOD and must be replaced. Proceed to Step 3.
➢ YES> the sash cover is missing. Replace the missing sash cover. Proceed
to Step 4.
NOTICE: Only replace the loose or missing (NO GOOD) Rear Door Rear
Sash Cover(s).

4. Remove all residual adhesive tape (Figure 6) from the vehicle, as shown in
Figure 7.
• Use 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean and remove all adhesive tape and residue
NOTICE: Use of other cleaning chemicals may damage the paint surface.

INSTALLATION PREPARATION:
5. Using a suitable tool, cut the Mixing Nozzle at the 2nd diameter marking
down from the top to allow for a larger bead of adhesive during application
(Figure 8 & 9).

IMPORTANT: The preparation of all parts and equipment must happen before
mixing the adhesive in the applicator mixing nozzle. The adhesive hardens
very quickly.
6. Assemble the LiB Gap Filler Gun NI-53350, 3M Adhesive Tube 999MP-3M08237
and the 3M Static Mixing Nozzle 999MP-3M08193 (Figure 10 & 11).
• Remove and discard the red plug from the adhesive tube by unscrewing the
retaining collar
• Attach the mixing nozzle by sliding the retaining collar over the nozzle and
screwing the retaining collar onto the adhesive tube
• Place the adhesive tube with the nozzle attached into the LiB Gap Filler Gun

• DO NOT squeeze the LiB Gap Filler Gun handle because it will begin mixing
the adhesive

7. Preparation for the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover installation (Figure 12).
• Obtain the LiB Gap Filler Gun Assembly
• Obtain the replacement Rear Door Rear Sash cover(s)
• Obtain a scrap piece of cardboard or appropriate scrap surface for the repair
NOTICE: All tool and part preparations MUST be completed before starting
the repair in order to finish the repair before the adhesive starts to harden

REAR DOOR REAR SASH COVER INSTALLATION:
8. Remove the clip from the new Rear Door Rear Sash Cover(s) (Figure 13), and
then install the clip into the door where shown in Figure 14.

IMPORTANT: In the proceeding steps, the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover must be
aligned and immediately installed before the adhesive starts to harden.
• Please read steps 9-17 before mixing and applying adhesive
• Adhesive will begin hardening in 3 minutes once mixed
• Mixing nozzle will begin to clog in 2-3 minutes after mixing has stopped
9. Apply a small amount of the adhesive to a scrap piece of cardboard until it
appears that the adhesive exits the nozzle evenly mixed (Figure 15).

10. Apply a 6mm wide, 30mm long bead of adhesive in a straight line to the area
of the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover where shown in Figure 16.

11. Remove the red backing from the double-sided tape (Figure 18).
• Pull the available red tabs on the double-sided tape to remove
• Take care to NOT touch the tape surface once backing is removed
IMPORTANT: The Rear Door Rear Sash Cover must be installed immediately
after the adhesive is applied and tape backing is removed. Adhesive will begin
to set in 1 min.

12. Align the bottom Rear Door Rear Sash Cover tab and bottom clip to the
vehicle door as shown in Figure 19 & 20.

14. Once aligned, push the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover lower clip to snap into
place (Figure 22).

16. Apply consistent, even pressure to the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover for at
least 1 minute (Figure 23).
• Using both hands, as shown in Figure 23, apply pressure by leaning at a
slight angle in relation to the vehicle
IMPORTANT: If you are repairing more than one Rear Door Rear Sash Cover,
clear the nozzle to prevent clogging immediately after completing Step 16 by
applying a small amount the adhesive to a scrap piece of cardboard and repeat
Steps 8 through 16 for the repair. If the nozzle does not clear, use a new nozzle
and repeat Steps 5 through 16.
• When the repair is complete, allow the glue to harden in the Static Mixing
Nozzle to stow the remaining 3M Adhesive for later use

17. Wait at least three (3) minutes and confirm that the double-sided tape has
adhered properly by gently trying to lift the edge of the Rear Door Rear Sash
Cover at the three (3) points shown in Figure 24.
• The leading edge of the Rear Door Rear Sash Cover should not lift
• If the leading edge does lift, repeat Step 16 and press hard along the three
(3) points shown in Figure 24
IMPORTANT: Once the repair is completed, do not wash the vehicle. It is
recommended that vehicle should avoid excess sun (heat) and water exposure as
much as reasonably possible for up to 24 hours as tape and adhesive cures.
