[This document refers to a field fix of a kitchen pull-out pantry system that won't open properly or is bowed
\down when extended. This only applies to the kitchen pull out pantry system on a Model G fifth wheel.

Condition:

Brinkley RV has determined that under certain conditions, a Pull-Out Pantry system may not function properly.
The Pull-Out Pantry will not open correctly, and when extended may be bowed towards the floor. This
document will address the repair needed to the pull-out pantry system to correct these concerns.

NOTE: The pull out pantry system is only rated for 100 Ibs.

a full face shield depending on the nature of the task to be performed.

the adjustment and reassembly process.

2. Identify the concern with the pantry. With the pantry mostly closed, measure the gap between the top of the
pantry pull out and the cabinet. If the gap is 5/8” or greater, you will need to complete this repair (Figure 1).
3. Pull pantry to full extension. You may need to lift the front end of the pantry to avoid damaging the floor.

Remove all personal items from the pantry shelves and drawers (Figure 2). Remove the drawers from the
pantry and carefully set aside.

Using a screw gun and a #2 square drive bit, remove the two screws securing the pantry to the slide
mechanism at the floor (Figure 3A). Save these screws for re-installation. Use care while removing these
screws to not strip them or the holes they go into. If necessary, replace them with a larger screw diameter.

Release the top slide mechanism, and then carefully lift the pantry off of the floor mechanism and set aside.

Using a white paint marker, make alignment marks on the mechanism and the floor to be able to realign the
mechanism in the proper location (Figure 4 - red marks for clarity)

There are six (6) screws that should be securing the pantry slide mechanism to the floor (Figure 4A). Using

9. Make sure the mechanism is aligned with the previous marks on the floor and then, using a screw gun and
the appropriate drive bit, install 5/8” long #12 pan head screws where the screws were previously removed
(Figure 6A). You can add a small amount of epoxy or wood glue to the holes before putting the screws in for

extra hold, but it is not necess

10. Using a power drill and a 1/4” metal drill bit, drill four (4) holes through the base plate of the slide
mechanism in the locations shown in Figure 7A. Make sure to only drill through the metal base plate and
not into the flooring underneath.

11. Using a screw gun and the appropriate drive bit, install the four (4) remaining 5/8” long #12 pan head
screws into the previously drilled holes (Figure 8A). This will add extra strength to the floor mechanism to
help support the load of the pantry better. You can add a small amount of epoxy or wood glue to the holes
before putting the screws in for extra hold, but it is not necessary.
