AFFECTED VEHICLES
Vehicles which require this campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR,
AWP, Campaign Summary or Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.
BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective December 13, 2024) on certain Model Year 2024 - 2025
BMW vehicles that were produced between January 23, 2024, and November 7, 2024.
Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to a Delivery Stop,
until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery
Stop.

SITUATION
One of the six engine oil pump mounting screws may not have been tightened with the correct torque.

PROCEDURE
1. Remove the lower engine oil pan as per Repair Instruction 11 13 020 “Removing and
installing lower oil pan section”.

2. Tighten the screw on oil pump to 8.4 Nm. For the
circle in the photo, the oil pump pickup has been
removed for clarity.
If the screw is no longer present on the oil pump, it
must be removed from the oil sump, and the threads
on the screw and in the oil pump must be checked for
damage.
If the thread on the screw and of the oil pump is not
damaged, clean the screw, reinstall it into the oil pump
and tighten the screw to 8.4 Nm.
If the thread of the screw or of the oil pump is
damaged, replace the oil pump and its damaged
screw. Refer to repair instructions 11 41 000
“Removing and installing/replacing the oil pump.”
NOTE: It is not necessary to bleed the oil circuit
after this repair.

3. Reassemble the vehicle as per Repair Instruction 11 13 020 “Removing and installing
lower oil pan section”.
Engine oil Replacement after Performing the Repair that applies
If the engine oil maintain service task does not show “Recommended, Due” in the Service status field, or is
not Bundling Eligible (BE):
A. Drain and refill the engine oil (9.5 liters) without replacing the engine oil filter and do not reset the CBS data.

If the engine oil maintain service task does show “Recommended, Due” in the Service status field, or
is Bundling Eligible (BE):
B. Drain and refill the engine oil (10.0 liters) with replacing the engine oil filter and reset the CBS data.

Important Note: Please do not overfill the engine oil.
