DESCRIPTION

On certain motorhomes, the tire valve extensions for the inner wheels may get damaged by
contact with the outer wheels, which may cause the inner tire to gradually lose air pressure.

ISSUE

Low pressure on the inner rear tire could overload the outer tire and cause a rear tire failure,
which may cause the coach's rear to sway and increase the risk of a crash.

UNITS AFFECTED

Please refer to the attached population list for affected units and VINs.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Customers may perform this recall by using the QR code to access quick
and easy instructions for valve extension removal.
Customers completing the recall must fill out the form opened by the QR
code to complete this recall and close the open recall.
Customers unable to complete the recall need to schedule an appointment
and take the letter to an authorized Newmar dealer or authorized service
center for them to perform the recall.

DEALER ACTION

If the customer needs assistance removing the valve stem extension, follow the attached
instructions and file a warranty claim with pictures once the recall is completed. You may also
fill out the verification form via the QR code if desired; however, the claim will still need to be
submitted. If you need assistance, contact your Newmar Service Account Manager.

This notice is sent to you as a Newmar Dealer in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic
and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect, which relates to motor
vehicle safety, exists in specific Newmar recreational vehicles.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
On certain motorhomes, the tire valve extensions for the inner wheels may get damaged by contact
with the outer wheels. If this happens, the inner tire could gradually lose air pressure. This could
overload the outer tire and cause it to fail.
A rear tire failure could cause the rear of the coach to sway and increase the risk of crash.
Motorhomes included in this recall include:
2023-2024 Super Star Class C motorhomes.
2025 Super Star Class C motorhome.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
Newmar will direct any customers in the population of this recall to have the inner wheel tire valve stem
extension removed. This can be done by taking their unit to a Newmar authorized service center to have
the rear inner wheel tire valve extension removed, or by the customer removing the valve stem extension
themselves per the remedy instructions that will be provided with the customer notification letters. All
repairs will be at no cost to the customer.
DEALER CAMPAIGN RESPONSIBILITY
Dealers are to provide to all customers/owner vehicles the service of completing this campaign at no
charge to the customer/owner regardless of vehicle age, vehicle mileage, or ownership at the time of
repair.
PLEASE NOTE: Federal law requires dealers to complete this recall service before a new vehicle is
delivered to the buyer or lessee. Violation of this requirement by a dealer could result in a civil penalty.
Correct all vehicles in your new vehicle inventory before delivery.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Newmar will provide the work instructions, the work instructions will be published on Newpar. The
estimated date for work instructions to be published is 10/29/2023.

As this defect does affect motor vehicle safety, it is recommended that you call Newmar service department
immediately at 1-800-731-8300. An associate will assist you in making an appointment to have this repair completed
or assist you with how to handle the documentation of the recall completion if you choose to remove the valve stem
extension yourself per the remedy instructions provided.
Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notification must forward a copy of this notice to
the lessee within ten days.
If you have had the repair performed before receiving this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost

RAISON DE CE RAPPEL

Newmar Corporation a décidé qu'un défaut, qui se rapporte à la sécurité des véhicules automobiles, existe dans un
camping-car spécifique construit sur le châssis Freightliner Trucks North America.
Question en litige :
Sur un petit nombre de camping-cars, les extensions de tige de soupape de pneu pour les roues intérieures peuvent
être endommagées par le contact avec les roues extérieures. Si cela se produit, le pneu intérieur pourrait perdre de
la pression d'air. Cela pourrait surcharger le pneu extérieur et le faire tomber en panne.

Instructions for Valve Stem Extension Recall 24V 787
Inspect the rear wheels to see if valve stem extensions are installed on your coach.
If valve stem extensions are installed, take pictures of each wheel.
Then submit your information and the photos via Newmar’s recall
form. If valve stem extensions are installed, proceed with the following
recall instructions to remove the valve stem extension(s). There is no
need to take the coach to a dealership to have the recall completed.
Determine if you are willing to complete the recall yourself or would
like a dealer to complete the recall for you. If you do not want to
complete the recall yourself, contact a Newmar-authorized dealer or
service center to schedule the recall.
If performing the recall yourself:
1. Remove the valve stem cap.
2. Remove the rubber grommet from the outer rim.
3. Remove the valve stem extension from the rear inner dual tire by rotating the
extension counterclockwise.
4. Test and adjust the rear inner tire pressure to ensure correct air pressure and that air
loss did not occur while removing the extension. This can be checked using a long,
truck-style tire pressure gauge and a long, truck-style air chuck.
5. Install the valve stem cap you previously removed using long nose pliers or a valve
capper tool.
6. Take a photo of the rear tire and rim showing the extension and grommet have been
removed.
7. Scan the QR code or use web link below to fill out the recall form. Remember to
attach the pictures you took to verify the recall has been completed.

Smart Device (Phone or Tablet) – Easiest Option
Scan the QR code to access the form. When you reach the photo submission line
in the form, click “Browse Files” and when prompted, either select the files or
camera option.

If you took a photo previously, select it using the files option to attach it to the form.

If you need to take a photo, select the camera option, and allow access to the camera
when prompted.

Once the photo is attached, complete the form, and then make sure to click “Submit.” If any
required fields are not completed, you will be prompted to fill in any missing information.

When you reach the photo submission line in the form, click “Browse Files,” and attach the
photos you took. Once the photo is attached, complete the form, and then make sure to click

For dealers and authorized service centers, follow the steps 1-6 above and submit a
warranty claim with pictures to Newmar.

Si vous effectuez le rappel vous-même :
1. Retirez le capuchon de la tige de la vanne.
2. Retirez l'œillet en caoutchouc de la jante extérieure.
3. Retirez l'extension de la tige de soupape du pneu double intérieur arrière en faisant pivoter le
extension dans le sens antihoraire.
4. Testez et ajustez la pression intérieure arrière des pneus pour assurer une pression d'air correcte
et cet air
la perte ne s'est pas produite pendant le retrait de l'extension. Cela peut être vérifié à l'aide d'un
long,
manomètre de pneu de style camion et un long mandrin à air de style camion.
5. Installez le capuchon de tige de soupape que vous avez précédemment retiré à l'aide de longues
pinces à nez ou d'une vanne
outil capper.
6. Prenez une photo du pneu arrière et de la jante montrant l'extension et l'œillet ont été
supprimé.
