Some models have a crimping type hub nut. If the crimped (stacked) area
of the hub nut is not properly released before the nut is removed, the
threaded portion of the axle shaft can be damaged, resulting in
unnecessary axle shaft replacement. This article is to remind technicians
of the removal procedure.

chisels, so be sure to use the
correct tool for the vehicle. For
Outlander/Outlander Plug-in
Hybrid: KV40108800. For other
models: MB992700.

TECHNICAL INFORMATOIN: PAINT SURFACE DAMAGE PREVENTION
AFFECTED VEHICLES:

CONCERN:

This article highlights the damage that brake fluid and bird droppings can cause to the
paint surface and the importance of car washing after maintenance or when vehicles are
stored in an open-air environment.

CAUSE:
If brake fluid is left unattended for an extended period on painted surfaces of the vehicle,
it can cause damage or discoloration to the paint and may even cause the paint surface
to peel away which could lead to rust/corrosion occurring on the body panel. Brake fluid
is water-soluble, so immediately wash with water if brake fluid is spilled on a painted
surface.

If you store vehicles in an open-air environment, you may find bird droppings deposited on
the vehicles. If bird droppings remain on the vehicles for an extended period, due to the
chemical reaction from acid , it can damage the paint surface. Check the paint condition
regularly and wash the vehicle when bird droppings are found.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: DRIP RAIL MOULDING REPLACEMENT

When replacing drip rail mouldings, it is important to verify the integrity of the clip. The
correct clearance between the claws of the clip is 4.5mm
+0.3. Refer to Group 51 "Exterior" for replacement procedures.
A PRC entry is required for this repair. Please refer to TIN-24-42-001 for instructions and
requirements.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: DOOR LOCK SWITCH FITTING PROCEDURE AND
PRECAUTIONS
AFFECTED VEHICLES:

Outlander and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid

When the power window main switch is replaced, the door lock switch may not return
to its original position after being pressed (Figure 1).
This may be due to a poor fit when installing the door lock switch to the power window
main switch. The procedure and precautions for fitting the door lock switch are as
follows:

push it in with both thumbs until

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: PRECAUTIONS AFTER DRIVING ON SALTED ROADS

Road salt used in the winter time may cause vehicle part to severely rust. To prevent this
corrosion, please note the following precautions and inspection maintenance.
• Ask customer to wash and maintain their vehicle after driving in areas where road salt has
been used. If severe corrosion is found, please recommend having it repaired.
• Customers who use their vehicles in coastal/island areas are also requested to wash their
vehicles periodically. If severe corrosion is found, please recommend repairs.
Note:
1. It is important to remove the undercover, and check for mud intrusion or accumulation
on the vehicle's underside, including engine compartment.
2. When the engine bay area is washed, be careful not to splash water on connectors.
3. For Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, do not wash the vehicle while it is charging. Also, do not
use a high-pressure washer on the underneath of the vehicle.

disc pad procedure. This procedure is required when replacing rear disc pads on vehicles

MMNA is aware of situations where the ADAS 2 Control Unit was misidentified as the
Multi Around Monitor (MAS) Control Unit.
The graphic below shows the location and identifies both control units in question. Be
sure to refer to the graphic to ensure the correct control unit is ordered when replacing
either of the units.

SiriusXM with 360L to Make Mitsubishi Motors Debut in 2025
SiriusXM and Mitsubishi Motors extend agreement through 2030
NEW YORK and FRANKLIN, Tenn. – January 8, 2025 – SiriusXM and Mitsubishi Motors
North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced an agreement to launch SiriusXM with 360L on
select 2025 model-year Mitsubishi vehicles, including the recently debuted new Outlander SUV,
as part of an extension of the agreement that will continue the two companies’ relationship
through 2030.
SiriusXM with 360L combines satellite and streaming content delivery into a single, cohesive invehicle entertainment experience, which provides drivers and their passengers with choice,
content discovery, and a personalized listening experience. In equipped Mitsubishi vehicles,
SiriusXM with 360L adds an expansive library of on-demand content as well as a live sports
category that makes it easier to find broadcasts of games and sporting events. Personalized
“For You” recommendations, with the ability to access related content, allow listeners to
discover more of the programming they love, and new features from SiriusXM are expected to
be delivered by over-the-air updates to Mitsubishi in the future.
