Dear Forest River Customer:
Forest River is alerting you to an issue involving certain 2025 Cherokee Travel Trailer, and 2025 Cherokee and Sabre
Fifth Wheel Recreational Vehicles. Please see the information below, which describes the issue and provides you with
details on the steps you should take to have your vehicle repaired.
WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
If the 12V disconnect is not turned off, and battery is not installed, the energy from the solar panel may allow an energy
spike where certain 12V components such as the air conditioner brain(s), slide motor(s) or other 12V electrical
component(s) are connected, and may cause a to nuisance fail.
DEALERS: WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Remedy Instructions can be found on Dealer Connect. This TSB will expire on March 1, 2026, or at the end of the Forest
River Manufactures’ warranty period, whichever comes last.

compartment for hookup to the positive post
on the battery.

Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s). Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any
House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the
vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death.

INSPECTION:
STEP 1: LOCATE OUTGOING POSITIVE SOLAR CONTROLLER WIRE;
• IF THE SOLAR CONTROLLER POSITIVE WIRE TERMINATES AT THE BATTERY, CLAIM THE INSPECTION CODE ONLY;
• IF THE SOLAR CONTROLLER POSITIVE WIRE TERMINATES ON A POST, MOVE ON TO THE REMEDY;
REMEDY:
STEP 1: TRACE THE OUTGOING SOLAR CONTROLLER POSITIVE WIRE TO THE POST TEMINATION;
• REMOVE FROM THE STUD;
o REPLACE THE NUT ON THE STUD AND TIGHTEN;
• CUT OFF THE EYELET TERMINAL FROM THE WIRE;
STEP 2: STRIP THE END OF THE WIRE, TWIST THE STRANDS;
STEP 3: INSERT THE WIRE INTO THE OPEN WAGO CONNECTION FROM THE PROVIDED KIT
• THE WAGO SHOULD COME ALREADY INSTALLED ONTO ANOTHER WIRE;
• ENSURE THE WIRE SOLAR CONTROLLER WIRE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EXPOSED WIRE STRANDS OUTSIDE OF THE WAGO;
• FLIP THE LEVER ARM ON THE WAGO AND LOCK IN THE SOLAR CONTROLLER WIRE;
STEP 4: CONNECT THE OTHER END OF THE PROVIDED WIRE TO THE BATTERY POSITIVE;
• IF A BATTERY IS NOT PRESENT, USE ELECTRICAL TAPE TO WRAP AROUND THE EYELET;
• THIS WILL PROTECT IT FROM ARCING IN CASE THE SOLAR PANEL IS ENERGIZED;
STEP 5: LABEL THE WIRE AS “SOLAR CONTROLLER POSITIVE”;
STEP 7: ENSURE ALL IS IN WORKING ORDER, TEST FUNCTIONALITY;
STEP 8: CLAIM REPAIR CODE.

Fifth Wheel Recreational Vehicles. Please see the information below, which describes the issue and provides you with
details on the steps you should take to have your vehicle repaired.

OWNERS: WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free repair. This TSB will
expire on March 1, 2026, or at the end of the Forest River Manufactures’ warranty period, whichever comes last. The
vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest
River of the issue and provide the TSB number (located at the top of this page) to the dealership. It is also helpful to give
the dealership a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the repair.

HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is .25 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an
appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
