Counterfeit Filter Awareness
Introduction
Allison Transmission has identified several counterfeit filters and filter kits for 3000 Series™ and 4000 Series™
transmissions. The filters are marked with Allison part numbers and trademarks and are sold in packaging nearly
identical to that used for Allison Genuine Filters. The filters appear to have originated in China where it is difficult
to prevent counterfeiting. The filters are not manufactured to Allison specifications and, if installed, could fail,
causing serious damage to the transmission.
To aid in identifying counterfeit filters, a comparison of an Allison Genuine and a counterfeit P/N 29558328
Twin Filter Kit is provided below. Counterfeits are not limited to this part number. Differences shown are not
comprehensive and counterfeit filters may change over time to become less identifiable.
If you suspect that a filter may be counterfeit, please retain the filter and immediately notify your Allison customer
support representative.
