Cause:

Visual defects may appear on the front apron due to a supplier fault. These can be noticeable
due to slight rippling in the middle area (“front spoiler”) and even up to creasing.
Customers might consider this as a visual detriment.

Replacing the front bumper
Information
Visual defect on center front apron
The typical damage profile of the center front apron can be recognized in the attached image. The main
features of the damage are:
•

Surface irregularities: Clearly visible shafts or dents in the front apron

•

Color deviations: Different color nuances or stains on the surface

Work Procedure: 1

Replace the front bumper.
For procedure, see  Workshop Manual '631555 Replace front bumper'.
Paint the front bumper according to instructions for new part painting stage 1 in the "Paint Manual"
(see PCSS information system  Information media 'Paint Manual').

Information
Painting stage S1 - new part painting
The painting of new body parts - including sub-parts and sections - is referred to as new part painting.
A differentiation is made between screwed parts and welded parts.
Stage 1 includes:
•

Phase I - Preparation

•

Phase II - Priming

•

Phase III – Painting

•

Phase IV - Applying clear lacquer

Information
The front bumper originally installed on the affected vehicles must be disposed of properly.
For further use of the front apron to be prevented, the front bumper must be rendered unusable
by means of cuts using a body saw or a cutting grinder so that the front bumper can no longer be
installed.
Perform photo documentation and upload the clearly identifiable pictures to the PCCS quality line
with the relevant damage/ incisions in the front bumper.

Enter the campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance Logbook.

Warranty processing
Information
The specified working times were determined specifically for carrying out this campaign and include all
required preliminary and subsequent work.
The working times may differ from the working times published in the Labor Operation List in PCSS.

Information
The disassembly / assembly work on the front bumper must always be carried out by a
Porsche Center.
Porsche Centers that carry out this campaign fully must submit an invoice for one of the Scopes 1 to
2.
Porsche Centers that hand the vehicle for carrying out the work required for painting over to an
external service provider must invoice for Scope 3-4.
Please document a copy of the invoice for this in PQIS.
