Customer states:
After passing through a toll booth or during heavy traffic (e.g., during rush hour), the customer complains
about one or more of the following functional issues:
•

The parking aid is not working. The following message appears in the instrument cluster: “Parking aid:
fault. Obstacles cannot be detected.”

•

The maneuver assist is not working. The following message appears in the instrument cluster: “
Maneuver assist: fault. Please contact workshop.”

•

The rear cross-traffic assist is not working. The following message appears in the instrument cluster: “
Rear cross-traffic assist: currently unavailable. See owner’s manual.”

Workshop findings
The complaint occurs sporadically and usually cannot be reproduced.
The following DTCs (static / sporadic) may be stored in the following control units with almost identical
time stamps. (The time stamps for the DTCs differ up to 5 seconds from each other)
Control unit for Information Electronics -J794- (address word 005F):
•

DTC U111000: Function restriction due to communication interruption (symptom 6922).

•

DTC U111000: Function restriction due to communication interruption (symptom 7178).

Driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (address word 00A5):
•

DTC U112300: Data bus error value received (symptom 2114053).

Lane change assist control unit -J769- (address word 003C) (only when equipped with PR# 7Y1):
•

DTC U112300: Data bus error value received (symptom 1191978).

•

DTC U112300: Data bus error value received (symptom 452352).

Service

Please check the software version of driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address
00A5) and the model year of the vehicle BEFORE performing the service measure described here.

MY 2019/2020 and software version 0365
An update of the target data container is available for driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (diagnostic
address 00A5). Please perform the Check Control Module Configuration test plan for driver assist systems
control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address 00A5) with the ODIS tester. Follow the instructions on the tester.

MY 2021/2022/2023 and software versions 0364, 0365, 0366, 0371, 0381, 0383
A software update including an update of the target data container is available for driver assist systems
control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address 00A5). Carry out the following steps with the ODIS tester:

Please make sure to change the communication method to “DoIP”.

1. Changing communication method to DoIP:
a. Admin --> General --> GFS Process.
b. Select the communication path: “Only allow DoIP communication”.
2. Software update for various driver assist system control units:
a. Select "flash".

b. Select "SVM code input".
c. Perform software update using SVM code FASISKD6A002 (duration of update: approx. 15
– 100 minutes; varies depending on vehicle equipment).

After the message “Should the entered SVM code be accepted or the vehicle connection be changed?
” is displayed, please double-check if vehicle access is set to DoIP. If it is not, please change it to
DoIP by selecting “3. Change vehicle access (CAN, DoIP, CANFD)”.

Model years 2021/2022/2023 and software version 0384
An update of the target data container is available for driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (diagnostic
address 00A5). Please perform the Check Control Module Configuration test plan for driver assist systems
control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address 00A5) with the ODIS tester. Follow the instructions on the tester.

Model year 2024 and software version 0394
Update the driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address 00A5) with SVM. To enter the SVM
code, use “Flash” mode on the ODIS tester. The SVM code is A5A019. Follow the instructions on the tester.
Model years 2024/2025 and software version 0502
An update of the target data container is available for driver assist systems control unit -J1121- (diagnostic
address 00A5). Please perform a check control module configuration test plan for driver assist systems
control unit -J1121- (diagnostic address 00A5) with the ODIS tester. Follow the instructions on the tester.
