NOTE: the mappings reported in this document are compatible only with the model and MYs
listed.
Please update the vehicles based on the instructions in this Technical Information BEFORE delivering the vehicle to the
end customer or, if the motorcycle has already been delivered, at the first possible opportunity.
Failure of the dealer to attend to this in a timely manner results in MV Agusta no longer being obligate to release the
defaulting dealer from liability in the case of product liability claims. As a result, the dealer shall become subject to liability
and/or responsible for recourse.
It is recommended to pay maximum attention in choosing the correct software for the model and version of the
motorcycle concerned. If you have any doubts regarding the correct choice, we recommend contacting your reference
local Customer Service contact person.
Problems on motorcycles related to software that is not updated or intended for another vehicle could compromise
the approval of warranty requests; therefore, we ask you to pay particular attention to ALWAYS updating the
motorcycles in transit at your workshop.
The installation of software other than that provided for the motorcycle concerned will be the exclusive responsibility
of the dealer carrying out the operation.
MV AGUSTA MOTOR S.p.A. therefore declines any responsibility for any consequences (civil and/or criminal and/or
administrative) that the dealer or third parties may incur due to the modification of the ECU (ECU Calibration) and/or a
different use of the motorcycle which is in conflict with the limits and prohibitions established by local law and the
regulation relating to the approved power of motorcycles that are intended for use on public roads.

ECU REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE WITH XC_2 \ XC_3 TOOL:
A description of the general workshop instructions is omitted. The safety regulations applicable in the workshop are also
not specified here. The repair work is assumed to be carried out by an experienced mechanic who has completed training
or has an equivalent qualification. If you are unsure, you should consult the latest repair manual.

Check that the battery voltage is higher than 12.6 V and keep the battery charger code #A61029974000 in
“POWER SUPPLY” mode connected for the entire duration of the update operations.
Update your XC_2 diagnostic tool to the latest available release.
Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle.
Select the environment “CONTROL UNIT DIAGNOSTIC”
Select the environment “ENGINE CONTROL UNIT”
Select “AUTOMATIC FLASHING” mode and proceed with the installation (no password will be requested). NOTE:
the mapping will be made available and installed automatically according to the model of your vehicle, it is
therefore necessary that the VIN is regularly registered in Dealer.Net.
In the event that the VIN of the vehicle being processed is NOT already registered in Dealer.Net, proceed to
generate a request ticket in Service Now

MANDATORY CONCLUDING OPERATIONS:







Execute the command “RESET SELF ADAPTING PARAMETERS” through XC_2 \ XC_3
Execute the command “VEHICLE CONFIGURATION LEARNING” through XC_2 \ XC_3
If you are installing a new control unit from a spare part or from a racing KIT not previously installed on the
vehicle, execute the “EXHAUST VALVE SELF-LEARNING” command THROUGH XC_2 \ XC_3. Otherwise, or if the
vehicle does not have it, continue with the next point.
Start the engine and let it idle without accelerating until the cooling fan starts.
Perform a dynamic test of the motorcycle on the road before returning it to the customer to verify the correct
functioning.

Please note:
All authorized MV Agusta dealers are required to perform inspection and replacement on all affected motorcycles they
have in stock (see vehicle history) before these motorcycles are delivered to end customers. Therefore, check the history
of vehicles in stock on MV Agusta Dealer.net. When applying this technical information, it is not possible to present
customer mobility services as part of the warranty claim.
