Some customers may comment on one or all following issues:

• Auto Lane Change is inoperative merging to the left or right lane.

Condition
• Auto lane change attempts to switch lanes but disengages halfway into the new lane

then cancels SuperCruise.

• The customer activates the lane change with the turn signal lever and the IPC displays

" Looking for an Opening" message, then lane change cancels out even if the new

lane is clear.
Cause
The causes of the condition may be the Foil Butyl Tape patches missing from one or

more of the Rear Short-Range Radars.
Correction
Remove the Rear Fascia and place on a secure cart. Then, inspect and replace any

missing butyl tape patches.
Service Procedure

1. Remove the Rear Fascia, refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement in SI and place it on a secure cart with the

interior of the fascia facing upwards.

2. Inspect the three Rear Short-Range Radar Sensors for any missing Foil Butyl Tape patches.

3. If any are missing, remove the Rear Short-Range Radar Sensor, cut to shape, and apply a new Butyl Tape

patch (PN 25757810), then reattach the sensor.

Important: The Butyl Patches are all a unique shape, ensure they are cut to size and not hanging over an edge or

covering the sensor.

− The passenger side Butyl Patch measures 31.38mm wide on the left side, 60.07mm long on top, 16.99 mm

wide on the right side touching the sensor, and 39.19mm long on the bottom.

Note: Ensure the end point of the patch’s field of view is clear of anything in the way (debris, loose sticker, etc.) as it

can trick the sensor.

4. Once all three Butyl Tape Patches are in place, ensure the field of view is clear. Then reattach the Rear Fascia.
