CiPPERT UNITS MANUAL OVERRIDE 2

Purpose
This document describes the procedure for manually operating the Single Acting and Double Acting Dump
Trailer Hydraulic Power Units. In the event of electric or system failure, the power units can be manually
operated with a drill.
Resources Required
+ Cordless or Electric Drill or Screw Gun
+ V4" Hex Bit
Single Acting Hydraulic Power Unit
Unhook the power unit motor from the power source prior to attempting the manual override procedure.
Retract
1. Unscrew the protective cap on the cartridge valve of the hydraulic power unit (Fig.1).
2. Turn the override knob counterclockwise until it stops.
3. The trailer bed will retract.
Moving parts can pinch, crush or cut. Keep clear and use caution.
4. After retracting the trailer bed, make sure to turn the override knob clockwise until it stops.
5. Screw on protective cap until it is finger-tight.
Extend
NOTE: It is not recommended to manually extend the trailer bed while it is loaded.
1. Unscrew the protective cap on the cartridge valve of the hydraulic power unit (Fig.1).
2. Turn the override knob counterclockwise until it stops.
3. Locate the manual override coupler on the front end of the power unit (Fig. 2).
4. Remove protective label (Fig. 2A) from power unit to reveal the manual override coupler.
5. Using a drill with a Y4" hex bit, run the drill counterclockwise (Fig. 3) to extend the trailer bed.
6. After extending the trailer bed, make sure to turn the override knob clockwise until it stops.
7. Screw on protective cap until it is finger-tight.

Double Acting Hydraulic Power Unit
Unhook the power unit motor from the power source prior to attempting the manual override procedure.
Retract
1. Unscrew the protective cap on top of the two-way retract cartridge valve of the hydraulic power unit
(Fig.4).
2. Turn the override knob counterclockwise until it stops.
3. Locate the manual override coupler on the front end of the power unit (Fig. 5).
4. Remove protective label (Fig. 5A) from power unit to reveal the manual override coupler.
5. Using adrill witha V4" hex bit, run the drill counterclockwise (Fig. 6) to retract the trailer bed.
6. After retracting the trailer bed, make sure to turn the override knob clockwise until it stops.
7. Screw on protective cap until it is finger-tight.
Extend
NOTE: It is not recommended to manually extend the trailer bed while it is loaded.
8. Unscrew the protective cap on top of the four-way extend cartridge valve of the hydraulic power unit
(Fig. 4).
9. Turn the override knob counterclockwise until it stops.
10. Locate the manual override coupler on the front end of the power unit (Fig. 5).
11. Remove protective label (Fig. 5A) from power unit to reveal the manual override coupler.
12. Using a drill witha VY," hex bit, run the drill counterclockwise (Fig. 6) to extend the trailer bed.
13. After extending the trailer bed, make sure to turn the override knob clockwise until it stops.
14. Screw on protective cap until it is finger-tight.
