Introduction

Some 2023 – 2024 model year Corolla and Corolla Cross vehicles with M20A-FKS engines may
exhibit a MIL ON condition with one or both of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTCs) present:


P11EA00 – (Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance (Port))



P013A7C – (A/F Sensor – Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 Slow Response)

There are no drivability issues or other symptoms associated with this condition. Follow the Repair
Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
 This repair is covered under the Toyota Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
60 months or 60,000miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
 Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in
this bulletin.
 For 2023 – 2024 model year Corolla and Corolla Cross vehicles equipped with a California
Certified Emission Control System that are registered and operated in California or any state
that adopts California emission warranty — California Emission Long-Term Defect Warranty is
in effect for 7 years or 70,000 miles from the vehicle’s in-service date, whichever occurs first.

additional information).

1. Confirm the condition exists.
Does the vehicle exhibit a MIL ON condition with one or both of the following DTCs present?


P11EA00 – (Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance (Port))



P013A7C – (A/F Sensor – Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 Slow Response)



YES — Continue to step 2.



NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.

2. Remove the intake manifold assembly.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:


2023 – 2024 Corolla:

3. Inspect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)
ports inside of each intake runner.

Figure 1.

Are any of the EGR ports obstructed with
plastic flashing material as shown in
Figure 3?

HINT
Due to the EGR ports being recessed inside of
each intake runner, the use of a borescope
may be helpful during this step.



YES — Continue to step 4.



NO — This bulletin does NOT apply.
Continue diagnosis using the
applicable Repair Manual.

4. Install the NEW intake manifold assembly.
