diagnosis and repair procedures. Apply this procedure to the applicable vehicles.

Condition
On certain Cybertruck vehicles, the Rear Drive Unit (RDU) oil fill plug might not have been torqued to specification.

Correction
Torque the RDU oil fill plug to specification.
NOTE: If this bulletin is applicable to the vehicle, perform the correction without any need for inspection.

Procedure
1. Remove the mid aero shield (refer to Service Manual procedure 1203128061).
2. Remove the rear aero shield (refer to Service Manual procedure 1203128041).
3. Inspect the area around the RDU oil fill plug (Figure 1) to determine if an RDU oil top off procedure is required.

If minor oil loss (e.g., dried trail, sheen, aero shield is not soaked) is observed, then RDU oil top off is not
required. Skip to the next step.

If moderate oil loss (e.g., soaked aero shield, large wet trails on drive unit case) is observed, then RDU oil
top off is required. Perform RDU oil top off procedure (Service Manual procedure 40300105), and
discontinue this procedure. Use correction code S022440004.
CAUTION: Make sure to torque the RDU fill plug to the required 15 Nm when performing the fill drain
procedure.

4. Assemble the tools required (Figures 2 and 3) to properly torque the RDU oil fill plug.
CAUTION: Only use the listed tools to torque the fill plug. Using tools not listed in the tools list may result in
an inaccurate final torque value.

5. Set the torque setting on the torque wrench to 11 Nm, and then torque the RDU oil fill plug (Figure 4).
NOTE: Using the listed tools will result in a final torque value of 15 Nm.

6. Install the rear aero shield (refer to Service Manual procedure 1203128041).
7. Install the mid aero shield (refer to Service Manual procedure 1203128061).
