COAXIAL CABLE SHIELD ADJUSTMENT FOR
DISPLAY SCREEN FLICKERING/BLANK
Description: Certain GV70 (JK1A) and GV70 Electrified (JK1A EV) vehicles may exhibit a display
screen flickering or intermittently going blank. This may be due to the shield width of the coaxial cable
being too wide, causing a loose connection. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to adjust the width of
the shield using a supplied shield adjustment jig.

Applicable Vehicles:
• 2024-2025MY GV70 (JK1A) produced from 05/10/2023 – 09/18/2024 (VINs starting with 5NM)
• 2024-2025MY GV70 Electrified (JK1A EV) produced from 05/21/2023 – 10/22/2024 (VINs
starting with 5NM)

NOTICE
To avoid any potential damage to Genesis EVs, Genesis EV repairs can only be performed by EV
certified Genesis retailers.

Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect the
negative (–) battery terminal (A).

Access connector M23 (D).

Disengage the yellow lock (E) on the
connector by pressing down on the 2 tabs (F).

Remove the coaxial cable from the connector
terminal (G).

Shown at right is a coaxial cable shield (H)
that is too wide and needs adjustment.

Notice that the coaxial cable shield is larger
than the hole of the jig (I). Proceed to next
step.

Begin the shield adjustment by inserting the
end of the coaxial cable at an angle as shown.
Gently rotate the jig to allow the entire shield to
enter the opening.

Then insert the shield all the way inside the jig.
Insert the coaxial cable shield at a minimum
depth of 1 mm up to a maximum depth of
3 mm.

Once inserted, rotate the jig around the shield
3 times.

Rotate 3 times

This will reduce the width of the shield to
enable a better connection in the
connector.
8.

Remove jig for use in next affected vehicle.

9.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of the
adjusted coaxial cable shield with the
last 6 digits of the VIN and the date of
repair on a piece of paper.
Upload the photo to STUI.

10.

Reassemble connector and all removed
components in reverse order of disassembly.

11.

Turn ignition switch ON and verify the display
screen no longer exhibits flickering or an
intermittent blank screen.

12.

Procedure is complete.
