TITLE
Inspection of transmission driveshaft fitment/security if specific faults are reported.
REASON
Lotus has received reports from the dealer network of:
̵ Loss of drive.
̵ Oil leaking from the transmission driveshaft seals.
̵ Transmission noise while driving.
It has been identified that a potential cause of these issues is
as a result of the driveshafts not being fully locked in position
into the transmission at the time of vehicle assembly.
VIN range affected
Start of production for both Emira V6 powertrain (manual and automatic) and Emira 4-cylinder DCT up
to 2025 model year VIN SCCLEKAX4RHB12094 inclusive.
ACTION
If an Emira owner contacts you, or you are presented with a vehicle within the affected VIN range
which has any of the transmission faults listed above*, then the following transmission components
must be checked for damage caused by incorrect installation:
̵ Driveshaft splines.
̵ Driveshaft circlips.
̵ Driveshaft oil seal.
*Note: If the only fault is transmission fluid leakage from a driveshaft seal because the driveshaft is
not fully locked into position and the vehicle is only at delivery mileage (less than 100 miles/160 km),
then it is acceptable to push the driveshaft back into position if a visual inspection shows that the
driveshaft seal has not been damaged, (and then check/top up the transmission oil level).
Refer to the operation codes for driveshaft removal and refitment shown in sections 47.15. for both
V6 and 4-cylinder powertrains from the Emira service notes which are available to view from the
aftersales dealer portal at: https://dealerportal.uslotservice.lotuscars.com/log-in - from the Aftersales
tab, select Service Manuals > Emira.
Important: Have a mobile device such as a tablet or phone ready and operating in photo
or video mode, that can record evidence of any transmission oil leakage from the driveshaft
seal and/or damage to the driveshaft splines or circlips.
Any claims relating to the contents of this Technical Service Bulletin must be supported with video or
photographic evidence.

Connect system for any combinations listed below as required:
Left Side Driveshaft Renewal
Fitment of applicable left side driveshaft part number (and driveshaft seal if required), 2 x rear brake
caliper bolts (8891014034) 1 x driveshaft nut (A132F6029F) and a sublet value for a suitable quantity
of transmission fluid if required. Applicable labour time/vehicle for either V6 or 4-cylinder powertrain.
Use operation code 47.15.01-02. Use A code 2 and B code 14.
Right Side Driveshaft Renewal
Fitment of applicable right side driveshaft part number (and driveshaft seal if required), 2 x rear brake
caliper bolts (8891014034) 1 x driveshaft nut (A132F6029F) and a sublet value for a suitable quantity
of transmission fluid if required. Applicable labour time/vehicle for either V6 or 4-cylinder powertrain.
Use operation code 47.15.02-02. Use A code 2 and B code 14.
Left Side Driveshaft Seal Renewal Only
Fitment of applicable left side driveshaft seal, 2 x rear brake caliper bolts (8891014034) 1 x driveshaft
nut (A132F6029F) and a sublet value for a suitable quantity of transmission fluid if required.
Applicable labour time/vehicle for either V6 or 4-cylinder powertrain. Use operation code 47.15.05-02.
Use A code 2 and B code 14.
Right Side Driveshaft Seal Renewal Only
Fitment of applicable right side driveshaft seal, 2 x rear brake caliper bolts (8891014034) 1 x
driveshaft nut (A132F6029F) and a sublet value for a suitable quantity of transmission fluid if required.
Applicable labour time/vehicle for either V6 or 4-cylinder powertrain. Use operation code 47.15.06-02.
Use A code 2 and B code 14.
Left Side Driveshaft Refitting Only
Locking driveshaft into transmission - left side, 0.8 hours labour/vehicle Use operation code 47.15.1300 (and a sublet value for a suitable quantity of transmission oil if required). Use A code 2 and B code
14.
Right Side Driveshaft Refitting Only
Locking driveshaft into transmission - right side, 0.8 hours labour/vehicle Use operation code
47.15.14-00 (and a sublet value for a suitable quantity of transmission oil if required). Use A code 2
and B code 14.
