INSTALLATION
1. Install the QR Mounting Bracket (Fig.1A) directly to an existing optional SWA
Bracket (Fig.1).
A. Align the QR Mounting Bracket (Fig.2A) over the optional SWA bracket hole‑pattern.
B. Insert four 3/8”-16 x 2” Philips flat head bolts (Fig.2B) through the QR and
SWA brackets.
C. Insert four 3/8” I.D. flat washers (Fig.2C) over the bolts.
D. Secure the bolts in-place with four 3/8”-16 brass locking nuts (Fig.2D). Torque nuts
to 45 ft-lbs.
E. To complete installation, go to step 3.I.
2. If no optional SWA bracket is available, go to step 3 to complete Quick Release (QR)
Mounting Bracket installation directly to a boat.

3. Install the QR Mounting Bracket directly to a boat.
A. Cover the intended mounting area with masking tape to prevent scratches and gelcoat chipping when drilling the mounting holes later.
B. The lowest point of the QR bracket must be mounted above the water line to prevent
adverse handling of the boat (Fig.3).
NOTE: If the boat has trim tabs, make sure there is NO interference between the tabs and
the anchor before continuing with installation.

C. With the QR bracket placed in its desired location, operate the outboard motor
through the entirety of its turning and trim range to confirm there will be NO
interference with the bracket or the anchor.
D. If there is no interference with any of the boat’s exterior components, make sure
there is enough room within the boat’s interior location around the transom to
accommodate tightening of the mounting hardware.
E. Use a pencil to mark the mounting holes of the QR bracket then drill four holes using
a 3/8” drill bit.
F. Remove any masking tape.
G. Align the QR mounting bracket (Fig.4A) over drilled holes then insert four 3/8”-16 x 4”
Phillips flat head bolts (Fig.4B) through the bracket and drilled holes.
NOTE: Use either 2” or 4” flat head Phillips screws depending on the thickness of the
boat’s transom.
H. Install washers (Fig.4C) over screws then thread on locking nuts (Fig.4D). Torque nuts
to 45 ft-lbs.

I. Install plastic washers (Fig.5A) over 5/16”-18 x 1” Philips pan head screws (Fig.5B).
I. Coat screw threads with blue Loctite®.

II. Insert assembled screws through the QR end cap (Fig.5C).
III. Secure assembled QR end cap to the bottom of the QR mounting bracket (Fig.5D).
NOTE: If Loctite® is NOT used, check screws for tightness each trip.

J. From the top of the QR mounting bracket (Fig.6A), slide the SWA (anchor) mounting
plate (Fig.6B) into the QR mounting bracket.
K. Install a QR end cap (Fig.7A) over the top of the QR mounting bracket (Fig.7B):

I. Place one plastic washer (Fig.7C) onto one 5/16”-18 x 1” Philips pan head
screw (Fig.7D).
II. Apply a small amount of Tef-Gel® or Marine Grade Anti-Seize to the to the screw
threads to ensure the screw is able to be removed easily.
III. Repeat steps I and II on a second screw.
NOTE: Do NOT use Loctite® on the top cap screws. Top cap screws are removed when
removing the anchor.

L. Use a Phillips screwdriver to secure the end cap to the mounting bracket with the two
previously assembled screws. Do not overtighten screws.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Periodically inspect the quick release mounting bracket, end caps, wire harnesses and
electrical connections for damaged, loose or missing parts.
A. Repair or replace electrical connections, harnesses or connector as necessary.
B. Tighten loose or replace missing hardware as necessary.
C. Replace damaged or missing mounting bracket or end caps as necessary.
Periodically inspect the quick release mounting bracket for foreign material. Foreign material
within the cavity of the mounting bracket can prevent normal use of the bracket. Use clean
water and a soft bristled brush to wash and scrub away any build-up of foreign material in or
around the mounting bracket.
