We have found that, in a small quantity of the models listed, there have been reports of cracks in the
windscreen. Investigations have shown the cause of this to be fixings being tightened to the incorrect
torque during assembly.
Dealers are required to make sure that they fit the fixings to the windscreens to the specified torque
shown.
When adjusting the windscreen, always use the height adjustment handle.
If you do not follow this instruction, the windscreen may crack.
Damage of this nature is not a warrantable defect and all warranty claims for this issue will be rejected.
NOTICE
The torque wrench setting figures given in this document must be followed. The torque tools used must be
of accurate calibration.
When tightening the fixings, always use a suitable torque wrench that can be set to the specified torque.
Incorrect torque on the windscreen fixings could lead to cracks developing in the windscreen.
Tiger 850 Sport and Tiger 900 - Models without a Front Licence Plate

Position the windscreen to the windscreen support moulding.
NOTICE
The windscreen is secured using M5 x 16 mm shouldered fixings.

Fit and tighten the M5x16 mm shouldered fixings to 3 Nm.

Position the windscreen to the windscreen support moulding.
NOTICE
Threaded spacers and two M5 x 16 mm shouldered fixings are used to secure the windscreen.

Fit the two M5 x 16 mm shouldered fixings to the windscreen mounting boss.
Fit the two threaded spacers into the central runner.
Tighten the fixings to 3 Nm.

Fit the licence plate bracket, counter hold the threaded spacers and tighten the fixings to 3 Nm.

Collect the front licence plate bracket and its fixing from the parts box.
Position the windscreen to its mounting bracket.
Fit two of the M5 x 16mm fixings to the upper mountings and tighten to 1 Nm.
Fit the two threaded spacers to the lower mountings and tighten to 1 Nm.

Position the licence plate bracket to the threaded spacers and fit the two M5 x 16mm fixings as shown.
Counter hold the threaded spacers and tighten the fixings to 3 Nm.
