Transmission Stuck In Park (P) On The Instrument Cluster Not Illuminated 2024

Issue: Some 2023-2024 Escape vehicles equipped with a HF45 transmission may exhibit an illuminated powertrain
malfunction (wrench) indicator with DTC P07E6 stored in the inverter system controller SOBDMC, the GSM will
display a flashing P on the dial, the P on the instrument cluster is not illuminated, and the vehicle will be stuck in the
park (P) position. This may be due to the park lock actuator. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to
verify and if necessary replace the park lock actuator.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
• 2023-2024 Escape equipped with a HF45 transmission
• One of the following symptoms:
- DTCP07E6 from the SOBDMC
- Blinking P on the GSM
- Instrument cluster P not illuminated

Service Procedure
1. Using the datalogger feature in the FDRS scan tool select the following PID in the SOBDMC to check the
operation of the park lock actuator as shown through the system
TR_CORRECTED
TR_PARK_A
TR_PARK_B
TR_PARK_C
TR_PARK_STAT
GEAR_CMD
2. Does the TR_Park A value equal more than 20% when the vehicle is in the park (p) position?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 3.
(2). No - this articles does not apply. Follow diagnostics for DTC P07E6 Refer to WSM, Section 307-01 HF45
Diagnostics and Testing.
3. Replace the park lock actuator. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
• It is not necessary to remove the inverter system controller SOBDMC for this procedure.
• It is not necessary to drain the engine oil or remove the engine oil filter for this procedure.
