Gap In Upper Rail Front Trim Panel 30 August

Issue: Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit the upper rail front trim panel with an excessive gap. This may
be due to the misalignment of the upper rail front trim panel. To correct this concern, follow the Service Procedure to
adjust the upper rail front trim panel.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition if the vehicle meets the following criteria:
* 2021-2024 Bronco
+ Excessive trim gap on the passenger or driver side upper rail front trim panel

NOTE: This service procedure can be performed on the driver side and/or passenger side depending on
what sides exhibit the gap.
1. Remove the upper rail front trim panel following WSM, Section 501-05 > Removal and Installation > A-Pillar Trim
Panel > Steps 1-4. (Figure 1)

2. Remove the 8 mm (5/16 in.) bolt that retains the air bag curtain by the A-pillar and gently pull the bracket away
from the sport tube to access the locator pin. (Figures 2-3)

3. Add 2 plastic washers to the locator pin on the bracket and reinstall the bracket back into position with the 2
washers in place and tighten the 8 mm (5/16 in.) bolt to 80 Ib-in. (9 Nm). (Figure 4)

4. On the upper rail front trim panel above the bolt holes, add 3 strips of foam to the front location (Figure 5, Callout
2) and 2 strips of foam to the rearward location (Figure 5, Callout 1).

5. Reinstall the upper rail front trim panel following WSM, Section 501-05 > Removal and Installation > A-Pillar Trim
Panel > Steps 1-4.
