Resources Required
A %4" wrench A. Marine grade sealant

A 34" socket with ratchet (3M 5200 or similar)

A Engine Hoist/Lift
Preparation
Support outboard engine according to manufacturer's recommendations.
Installation

Single-Mount
1, Using the 3%” wrench and socket/ratchet, fully remove

engine bolts (Fig. 1A) from the port or starboard side of the

engine where the anchor will be installed. Starboard side

shown (Fig. 1).
2. Loosen the opposite side engine bolts approximately 1”.
3. Apply Marine-grade sealant around all of the exposed

bolt holes.

4. Insert the Motor Mount Adapter Plate (Fig. 2A) between the motor’s mounting bracket

(Fig. 2B) and the boat’s transom (Fig. 2C).
5. Align the adapter plate slots with the motor’s mounting bracket bolt holes.

6. Reinstall the previously removed (step 1) motor mounting bolts.
7. Adjust the anchor mount (Fig. 2A) to desired height, then tighten bolts.

8. Using the 34” wrench and socket/ratchet, fully remove the remaining set of engine bolts

from the side opposite of where the anchor will be mounted (Fig. 3A).
9. Apply Marine-grade sealant around all of the exposed bolt holes.

10. Install the shim between the engine and transom (Fig. 3B).
11. Reinstall the previously-removed (step 8) engine bolts.

12. Make any final height adjustments for the Engine Mount Bracket then torque all bolts to

manufacturer’s recommendations.

Dual-Mount
Follow all Single-Mount instructions except for step 10; install a second (separately

purchased) Motor Mount Adapter Plate (Fig. 5A) instead of the shim.

Mount Anchor to Adapter Plate
1. Align the holes of the anchor’s mounting bracket (Fig. 7A) with the slots of the Motor

Mount Adapter Plate (Fig. 7B).
2. Use the mounting hardware kit (2023017309) supplied with the Motor Mounting Bracket

Kit and instructions supplied with the Shallow Water Anchor to mount the anchor to the

Motor Mount Adapter Plate.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
When preparing to trailer or store the boat, take precautions to protect the anchor(s) from

possible damage.

1. Make sure the anchor(s) is/are fully retracted.
2. Periodically inspect the Motor Mounting Adapter Plate(s), shim, wire harnesses and

electrical connections for damage or loose or missing parts.
A. Repair or replace electrical connections, harnesses or connector as necessary.

B. Tighten loose, or replace missing, hardware as necessary.

C. Replace damaged Motor Mounting Adapter Plate and/or shim as necessary.
3. Periodically inspect the Motor Mounting Adapter Plate for foreign material. Foreign

material within the cavity of the adjustment slots or the mounting surface and through-

holes of the anchor interface can prevent normal use of the bracket. Use clean water and

a soft bristled brush to wash and scrub away any build-up of foreign material in or around

the mounting bracket.
